Gallo's Deli

How have I lived in Dobbs Ferry for 7 years and NOT eaten here before??? This place is exactly what I have been looking for: a down-home, street style Mexican food joint. Don’t let the ambiance fool you, the tacos here are legit. I had the 3 taco platter with rice and beans. The carnitas were killer, but I’m taking a star off for tough beef and chicken. In their defense, it was way after lunch, so the beef and chicken had probably been sitting under the heater since morning. While they won’t win any awards for them, the rice and beans were perfectly adequate for my needs. If you’re moving here from the city, it behoves you to understand what Gallo Deli not. It is not a fancy, NYC culinary experience proffered you by a top, international chef with a melange of Mexican and Central American flavors. What it is is a down-and-dirty, old school Mexijoint to satisfy my need for Mexichow. Yum! Next time I’m trying the enchiladas.

Ordered some tacos al pastor and chicken sopes that were delicious. Customer service was excellent. Highly recommend this place to check out when in the area.

First time trying Tacos de Birria and they are delicious. I will definitely come back.

***UPDATE****So very sad to learn they will be closing for good on May 15th, 2020. Building being taken down for new construction. This place has authentic, homemade Mexican food. Daily hot bar for lunch as well as cook to order items off their menu. Everything is fresh and really delicious. Recommend their soups. And you can get a $3 breakfast sandwich.

Hands down Gallo Deli delivers the best food and service in town. The food smelled so good at the door, and was piping hot, I enjoyed it before taking a picture. Everything was seasoned well, the meat tender, the veggies fresh and plenty of abundant avocado. The Al Pastor Quesadilla was pure perfection.

This place is a regular stop for breakfast and lunch- I love the menu options and freshness of the ingredients. Besides the menu, they also serve various pre-made dishes for lunch. Usually there's at least a chicken, pork, and beef option, sometimes fish, and rice+beans come along with it.

I ordered some rice and beans with steam veggies, bacon egg and cheese on a roll for my son and a chicken quesadilla meal for my sister. All I have to say is not only is the food amazing but the service is impeccable! All of the staff were very attentive, the food was prepared quickly, it was very inexpensive and all of the staff wore masks and gloves to prepare my food. Gallo Deli is lit!! Please open a deli in Brooklyn!!!!!

Great and warm atmosphere! The owners are very pleasant and courteous. I had an authentic enchilada platter and it was really good. Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of the food and customer service. I highly recommend Gallos Deli!

Such a lovely breakfast spot. The chorizo, egg and cheese on a roll was so delicious. 10/10 recommend! It was an amazing atmosphere to catch up with friends while also enjoying a quality meal.

9/2020. I’ve in coming to Gallo for at least six years about two times a month for taco chorizo, arroz amarillo, y frijoles. About 5 bucks plus tip, and, yes this place is worth it for Mexican food. Plus, I have been practicing my Spanish with them entire time. Really good food.
