Gambler Fishing

Great time with Gambler sport fishing on our overnight pelagic with Hillstar nature tours! First documented bridled terns in NJ waters in over 10 years! Amazing views of beaked whales and Risso’s dolphins and many other marine mammals. This was a nice, clean, comfortable boat ride. Great crew and captain. Definitely recommend sailing with this crew.

My first experience of this type, and it couldn't have been better! Loved every minute of it, the ride was smooth, the personnel always eager to help and open to talk and explain things. I really enjoyed it, and I will definitively be back soon. Thank you!

I was on a birding trip, not a fishing trip, but the crew and captain were all so nice and knowledgeable about the sea life. The boat was very clean I was surprised it didn’t smell fishy! The captain got us out where we needed to be to see the wildlife and was great at maneuvering the boat to get us where we could best see whales, dolphins, birds, sea turtles, sharks, etc.! Best fishing in all of New Jersey and perhaps the east coast!!! We've been vacationing from California to NJ for nearly a decade and decided to do a fishing tour this summer. Little did my son age 11 know the magical experience he was about to encounter. We're talking core forever memories that were made. We have done a few private fishing tours in the past, but this was our first group experience and it went above and beyond ALL of the expectations!!! First let's start with the crew. It felt like were a dozen of them....all so knowledgeable, friendly and FUN!!! They would check in to make we had the correct bait on our lines, they were there to help mom untangle her line again and again...and again...lol and if they saw we needed a hand for any other reason, within moments they were on it. At one point my nausea got the best of me. While I felt terrible that my boy was going to do this solo, every time I looked up, it seemed another kind gentlemen was at his side. Next, the locals. The boat was filled with them. And for me, I always know I choose the right tour when the locals are with you! The camaraderie of the crew and locals and the excitement of where Captain Bob took us to the best fishing spots was seriously everything you could ever want. The entire boat seemed to be landing fish left and right. The crew as well as the locals helped my boy to land a HUGE fluke as well as several large bass. My son said later, that this fishing tour helped him see "how he can feed his family"....we're talking about serious core memories that were made!! I simply cannot say enough about this incredible family-run fishing charter. Captain Bob, Susie, and to all the crew mates....THANK YOU. We love you guys. And we hope to see you guys next year!!!

Fun for everyone; drop a line and reel in a keeper! No experience or equipment needed but be early to get a nice spot on the boat. It's a very popular charter with a super friendly crew all dedicated to making your experience the best it can be.

Very kind and knowledgeable crew. Did all they could to make sure you were enjoying the trip. Clean boat. Caught some fish. A great father and son trip out on the water. Will definitely be back on the Gambler!!

I could not have been more impressed with the crew. They constantly moved around checking on everyone, helping in every way possible. When not much was biting the captain moved to a different location doing his best to be sure we all caught something. The only downfall was seasickness, and the crew even tried to help with that. And it certainly wasn't thier fault. All in all I would highly recommend this boat for deap sea fishing.

Spent the first half of the morning catching throwback fluke/winter flounder and sundials on the pier, 2nd half joined the Gambler and I got lucky! Two keeper fluke and the boat got its limit of keeper sea bass some MONSTER ones pulled on board as well so we were fortunate enough to get some as well! Crew and captain are awesome people and its safe to say I have a "Go to" charter for Fluke/Sea bassing now. Definitely coming back for a Night Wreckin and Bluefish trip!

The crew was absolutely amazing. Very friendly, helpful, patient with us as we don't fish often and fileted our catches for us. Got to catch seabass, ling and lobster. Also caught by others were eel and squid too. Water/weather was rough but still had a great time! Will definitely be back. Highly recommend!!

Clean boat, attentive & friendly staff, always available, excellent experience for new fisherman/kids. Highly recommend!
