Believe in the possibilities.
Gannon University's Schuster Theatre is a flexible, black box theatre that is the primary performance venue for our theatre program at Gannon. Students have the opportunity to perform, design, produce, write, and direct during their time at Gannon. Students involved in our productions come from the theatre major, as well as various majors throughout the university. All are welcome to audition and get involved in the production, both onstage and behind the scenes.
The Schuster Theatre produces 4 main stage productions each year. During the month of February, the Schuster produces Fringe Fest Erie. This month long theatre fringe festival encompasses works written, directed, and performed by Gannon students, as well as productions being submitted and produced by our Erie Community Theatre Partners. Throughout the summer. the Schuster Theatre produces Shakespeare Summer Nights. This two week repertory theatre experience, is a FREE Shakespeare in the park experience at the Lake Erie Arboretum in Frontier Park. Additionally, every July, we hold a week long summer theatre camp for high school students (GTX - Gannon Theatre Experience). GTX is a week long immersion into theatre teachings and styles students can expect at Gannon, ranging from acting and movement, to voice, directing, puppetry, and more!
