Transforming Residents Abroad Via Engaged Learning
At the heart of the T.R.A.V.E.L. program is a yearlong non-credit bearing small group experience where groups of 8-14 students and 2 faculty/staff facilitators meet weekly throughout the academic year to get to know one another, to develop their intercultural competence, and to study a topic prior to traveling to an international destination (usually for 10-14 days in May or June)! During the yearlong experience and the international trip, students have the opportunity to increase their cultural self-awareness, engage diverse perspectives, learn about and build confidence traveling, and cultivate meaningful relationships with their peers and facilitators. We invite our students to make lifelong friendships, explore incredible international destinations, engage rich and diverse cultures, and develop transferable skills that will serve them personally and professionally, through participation in the T.R.A.V.E.L. Program!
