The Garland Housing Finance Corporaton is an independent, nonprofit entity created pursuant to the Housing Finance Corporation Act by the City Council.
The mission of the Garland Housing Finance Corporation is to provide financing for low and moderate-income familes and individuals to have access to affordable rental and owner-occupied housing located within the city limits of Garland, Texas. We further this mission through issuance of single-family and multi-family renevue bonds, effective management of housing grant programs for down payment and closing cost assistance, and direct ownership of both multi-family and single-family properties located in Garland, Texas. The programs offered through the GHFC are designed to stimulate increased affordable housing opportunities for Garland residents through below market, 30-year fixed-rate home mortgages, down payment loans and gifts, and tax-exempt financing for constructon of new multi-family rental communities and/or acquisition and rehabilitation of existing apartment complexes.
