Fields are not well maintained...there were deep holes on both the mound and by home plate. Restrooms are not convenient to fields. Had to pay to park, but they couldn't even be bothered to collect trash during the day...trash was over-flowing. Also during hot weather, the dugouts are like brick ovens - no air circulation and the concrete block dugouts hold the heat extremely well.
The sightlines from the covered seating are horrible--brick enclosed dugouts block signficant portions of the field. They are still charging $5 per car per day to park. The lighting is horrible. There are no batting cages and very little room for teams to warm up. Our team and others are actively avoiding playing in tournaments held here because of the how bad this facility is.
The park is deteriorating rapidly. The grass on the fields and in the park is patchy, dying, and full of weeds. Over the weekend, the garbage in every receptacle at each field was not emptied Sunday, resulting in two-foot towers of waste and stench. The concession personnel are not hard workers, and they closed down well before the games were completed. The restrooms were deplorable as well. Paying five dollars to park is a joke as well, since people had no space to park, therefore they parked in the "grass" causing further damage. It's very disappointing to see a park go downhill so rapidly. Just last month it was in good condition.
Needs a lot of work. I believe that it sat for a year and the bank owns it and is now leasing it out but fences are falling apart, some fields have drainage issues, limited parking. My kids have played here for a few years and like it. With some TLC this place can be great!
We played there this past weekend. Our behind the plate umpire was hit in the knee with a ball. He took off his helmet and threw it against the net. He yelled the F bomb. He then threw his clicker. Both head coaches from the teams told him he was out of line and that small children saw and heard what he did. He didn't care. The owner of the fields came over and did nothing. The owner said he would be taken care of later. We saw him umpiring another game.
The fields themselves are pretty nice and so is the concession stand. But the seating and viewing of the fields are terrible. I would suggest that anyone bring their own chairs.
Fields are no different than any other place in St.louis. Plus they want to charge to park. Many other places to play in the St.Louis area that offer a better experience.
Great to watch kids and families together. Clean and groomed. A light pole inside right field? Pay to park? Really?
The baseball field was in poor shape...lots of pot holes. Especially at home plate...I worried someone would twist an ankle
It's ok. The concession stand workers need an attitude adjustment. Very teenage cocky and just rude.
