Quiet, clean, and charmingly urban. These apartments sit in the "downtown" district of the City of North Tonawanda...across the brick road from the tiny Gateway Park. A quick walk to almost anything you could possibly want, including bars, restaurants, banks, and stores. These studios are perfect for singular living, as all utilities are included.
Have lived in Gateway Park Apartments for three years and I honestly have to say, I've loved it. On the very few instances where I've had issues, they were fixed immediately and with zero fuss. While I wish there more of a "community" within the building itself, I think maybe I was just disillusioned to what "apartment building living" is. But the neighborhood is amazing. There's basically a park in the front yard. And it's a five minute walk to half a dozen bars and eateries. And a ten minute walk to groceries and other other basic necessities. Also, I should say, Sue in the front office is a treasure. She's been super helpful anytime I've needed it. If Gateway Park Apartments are indicative of all Kenmore Development properties, I'd recommend any one of them.
Lived here for one year. The location of this place can't be beat. Everything is in walking distance and having the canal across the street is amazing. The apartment itself is small, but very comfortable. Loved that the sink is right outside the bathroom, so two people can get ready at once. Never would have left, but we needed a bigger place.
Management may have warned that it would be “difficult to enter the parking lot” during canal fest but what they didn’t tell you is that if you want to be able to leave the building to go to work or school or literally anything else that people do at all during the festival, you can’t stay in your apartment. Imagine paying way too much money a month for a space that is not even close to being worth what it is and for a whole week you can’t even live there. When you’re taking a tour they don’t tell you that, they make it minimal that it’s just an inconvenience because of traffic, but the entire street is close during the festival and you can’t even enter or exit through the back because that street is also closed. The inconvenience that this causes over the course of the festival would honestly make you consider just living somewhere else, it is not worth it.
I spoke with the lady at the front desk who said she was the manager. Myself and another couple viewed the studio witch was okay. The view from the front is phenomenal for 650. Unfortunately I have a poor credit score and I have first, lady and security plus a co-signer. I was declined the apartment due to my credit. Even though I had the money and a co-signer. I reside in Amherst for four years looking for something cheaper. Have great references but she said no. I spoke with Mary her manager and she told me it’s not my problem it’s go fix your credit. I replied I have a co-signer can’t you just charge me more money as a security. Mary replied no we don’t do that here. Unfortunately I personally feel they don’t want blacks their because she never checked my ID when she ran my credit to know if I was me and she refused my co-signer but took my 35 dollars to run my credit. My current rent is 900 yet she feel I cannot afford 650. Please don’t rent here. I spoke with a cop who was walking around about the neighborhood he replied it’s okay mainly drunks at night he had to come there a couple of times. Terrible customer service from both parties. Never once looked at my pay stubs of checked my current landlord or even ask for my rent receipts. Which I have from the last four years. Run....
Ive been here since march and i love it. 700 a month and everything included? Ill take it. Attentive office, kind workers and my neighbors are wonderful.
