When I was a little girl, I used to watch my dad "doodle" on graph paper while he drank his morning coffee. It was usually a plan for something he had on his mind that he needed to get on paper to be able to move on and focus on day to day life. It was often a sketch of a house plan. Those certainly were my favorite! For years I wanted to do the same thing...draw house plans. Finally in high school I got the nerve to take a drafting class so I could begin the process of learning to be an architect. Sadly,despite trying my hardest, I barely squeaked by with a "D" in the class. Even though my dream of being an architect took a nose-dive, my love of houses prevailed. The older I became, the more my appreciation for them grew and the more I knew I still wanted to be a part of their life. Fast forward a few more years and I now sell homes, or as we say in the business, I sell "the American Dream."
I doodle house plans while I drink my coffee, just like my dad did, but I am the only one that looks at them. :-)
