A gourmet food rest. set in a cafe setting. View is wonderful and the staff informative and fun without being in your face. Reserve early to get a spot in busy times. We reserved the day before and it was booked 6pm onward! The calamari is great and food presentation is fine dining not cafe. The place is decorated well but it is a cafe. Great spot. Parking: Lots of spots Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly but remember every kid has a rest. expiry date. Wheelchair accessibility: Flat with a shallow ramp.
Ate here for our family thanksgiving dinner this weekend. The staff were attentive and cautious with my allergies as well as offered vegan and celiac safe meals. Service was prompt and professional. Delicious food and lovely setting by the ocean! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a high quality meal and excellent service. Vegetarian options: Meals can be adapted for the most part to adapt for vegetarian within reason Dietary restrictions: Dairy free, gluten free, and vegan friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to inside and deck to allow for access
I was hesitant to provide a review because I don't one of my favourite places to become overrun. However, that being said, this dining spot is amazing! A little gem nestled in one of the prettiest bays in the Cowichan/Duncan area. The food and service are exceptional. While there is not a myriad of dishes to choose from, the current menu items are prepared and presented to perfection! We have had various staff members look after us and each person provides professional service mixed with the right amount of conversation along with an abundance of smiles and good humour! Genoa Bay Cafe is second to none!
The journey to this cafe is very calming and picturesque. Marinas along the way. Water views. The road is narrow and windy, and many people are biking this route. When you arrive, the restaurant sits along the water front with a marina view. I recommend the patio if the weather permits. We started with drinks and coconut prawns. We shared the snapper burger and fries with a cup of chowder. Assume of the best seafood chowder I've had. It was amazing! For dessert, I highly recommend the carrot cake. Moist, flakey, creamy frosting with maple whip cream. The staff was attentive, and the restaurant was clean. A must go! Vegetarian options: Falafel wrap or rice bowl, salads
Only stayed on the patio for a glass of wine in between their busy lunch and dinner services. I was traveling solo, as a woman if you know you know, and my server Diana just made me feel at home. I was there between 4 and 5pm, which is when the kitchen is closed, so it is slower and you get to enjoy the patio peacefully. I was able to take in the view, have a lovely chat with Diana, and I truly enjoyed it. I couldn’t recommend it enough !
Amazing fish and chips with the best view. Also tried their special Calamari, which was great as well. Friendly staff and the marina vibe and views adds to the experience. It took a while to locate this place, but it was very well worth it.Food: 5/5
Everything good I've ever read about this place and more. Lovely, friendly staff. Food is excellent. And yes, the carrot cake is the best in existence... west coast of North America at least.Food: 5/5
Great little place to eat, was a little surprised there wasn't more seafood options, but otherwise it was pretty good. Great views and atmosphere,.Food: 4/5
Great little hidden gem! We had an amazing server and all the staff were great. The burger was perfect for a Sunday drive lunch. I had the carrot cake for dessert and enjoyed a walk around the docks after. It's pretty cold inside in the winter so wear layers.Food: 5/5
Our food was very flavorful and presented well, this is a great place but you will need a reservation to eat here.Food: 5/5
