George Washington Carver Park was created in 1950 as Georgia's First State Park for African Americans. Today, the park, beach and event venue on Allatoona Lake is operated by the Cartersville-Bartow County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Formerly known as Bartow Carver Park, the site returned to its original name in 2017. The park includes an indoor event venue available for private rental, beach, playground, boat ramp, and picnic areas.
