Goood ole wooden rollercoaster! This was a fun ride! Little pricey but worth it! The dark tunnel at first was unexpected but nonetheless fun! The coaster does get a good decent amount speed and moves you around a bit! I sat in the very front cart and we have two other groups on the ride so it felt like we were alone! I will definitely come back and ride again soon!
Pretty fun here, some places are great since some other places closed in other parts of San Diego. This place has always been a jumping spot to hang. And take it easy and water every where to enjoy. Beer, fun rides. Places to eat, coffee was pretty bomb. Little store there, its the spot to show off skate skills on the board walk!!! Have fun, I am.
Very nice coaster! Awesome even to present day roller coaster standards. Nice dives, high speed 55 mph and a long ride 2 minutes. The ratteling wood really adds to the sensation. The bounces when cornering are thrilling as well. We went in the morning when the row was still short.
This roller coaster is a blast. I was glad I rode it this weekend. It cost $8. The price was 8 tickets, and each ticket was $1. I will warn you, though. This coaster is old, fast, and jerks you all over the place. No wonder people scream on it. I'm 44 years old and in decent shape but probably will never ride it again for fear of hurting my neck. I'm honestly surprised it's legal. If you have a bad neck or back, I do not recommend this ride. However, I was glad I rode it once. What a blast! 5 stars, but don't say I didn't warn you! Lol.
Did you know that the song Rock Lobster by the B52's is actually a palindrome? It literally sounds exactly the same whether you play it forward or backward. That guy Fred Schneider from the band came up with the idea when he was recovering from a minor foot injury. I bring this up because when I was near this roller coaster earlier today they were piping that song through the external speaker system and I couldn't help but wonder if they were spinning it in reverse just to prove a point. Also, riding the coaster is a great time because it doesn't go too fast, so you probably won't be scared if you decide to go for a spin. Other things you can look forward to include the surrounding area near the roller coaster, as well as any activities occurring near or on the beach. These are all in play.
Such a old roller coaster I went on it 15 years a go and all I remember my back hurting . I went at it again yesterday and hurt by neck real bad . Just be careful if you don’t want to have any type of injury. Didn’t have fun at all … is not smooth at all, supper bumpy!Visited onWeekdayWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$31+
Worst roller coaster I’ve been on. It was so rough. We all had a terrible headache when we got off. Everyone around us was commenting the same. One guy said it felt like he had been slammed up against a brick wall. Not enjoyable at all.Visited onWeekdayWait time10–30 minReservation recommendedNo
If you come to San Diego you MUST go to Belmont park for the beach and boardwalk experience. And if you like roller coasters the Giant Dipper is fun for all ages. Not too crazy. Belmont Park in general is a fun place for families to go for a day out.
I love a good wooden rollercoaster on the beach. This one really had some speed to it. The line was short too. Absolutely worth it.
I got to experience this ride just a month ago. This ride is nearing 100 years of age and unfortunately it runs like it. It feels like absolute jackhammering in the valleys. I want to like this ride but I can't when it runs like that. Do it once for the credit, and get out of there.
