Practice Philosophy
I have defended and prosecuted cases at the Superior Court trial level in Pierce, King, Mason and Kitsap counties and at the Court of Appeals. I have been particularly successful in winning all or substantial portions of cases by pre-trial motions, thereby allowing my client to avoid all or a portion of the risks and costs associated with going to trial. This success is due in large part to my insisting on giving clients straight answers about the risks and likelihood of success in litigation. I refuse to encourage clients to proceed with litigation if the likelihood of success is poor. My clients' success is more than simply obtaining an order or judgment in their favor; it's also the ability to recover payment on a judgment whether it be for attorney fees, costs or damages. Winning a case but failing to recover payment is considered a loss by most clients. So, while I aggressively prosecute claims on behalf of my clients, I do not encourage my clients to throw good money after bad.
