John T. Gilbert DDS (Ret.), Paul D. Gilbert DMD, T. Brandt Gilbert DMD
Our story begins in the 1940’s when one of eight children of a Greenville watchmaker and farmer took a chance. My grandfather, John T. Gilbert, was the first in his family to seek higher education, which led him to dental school at Emory University in Atlanta. He was no stranger to hard work, from his early years on the family farm to driving taxi cabs on the weekends to pay for dental school. This hard work and dedication continued when he returned to Greenville in 1945 and opened a dental practice in the old Woodside Building on Main Street. He cared and served the Greenville community for 50 years.
While the Woodside Building may no longer sit on Main Street and my grandfather no longer practices dentistry, his legacy lives on as two more generations of Gilberts have followed in his footsteps. Though times have changed, we continue to maintain his core principles of trustworthy hard work and treating each patient as part of our family.
