Walked in for a simple plumbing problem walked by two workers without a single word walked to the isle asked a guy who was changing price tags a question to be told he didn't work there looked for a minute with two other employees watching me without a word before I left can't wait to see them close. or mayhirw workers who care about customers more then their dam phones worst shopping experience period.

Best Hardware around especially being 4 miles from my house.Well stocked and very clean. Every time I’ve went there they always had what I needed. Can somethings be more then your big box stores yes and big box stores buy in bulk from companies and companies like Dewalt Milwaukee make products specifically for them so yes it’s gonna be cheaper not always better and on some things your also paying for convenience and a family owned business which I have no problem doing that especially when they know what you need. If there busy at times yes your gonna have to wait your turn but you will get help and good help at that I’ve went thru that a few times going in myself but well worth it. Cashiers are quick even if there’s a line and when it gets long they will get someone to help. Remember people this isn’t a big box store with hundreds of employees it’s a small hardware with 6-10 employees working there at one time. Again I love this hardware, staff, products they carry, prices are good and very good knowledge when you need something and I’d say better knowledge then most of the ppl at the big box stores. Thanks Arch and all workers that work there. You guys are great!!!!

As always, I was greeted by a very friendly clerk. Needed a few garden supplies and found the items quickly. Also remembered string for my trimmer and located it quickly. Was asked if there was anything else I needed, or help finding something. Was good to go. Very quick and friendly checkout. Love this store!!

I like this place due to being an authorized UPS shipper. The store also carries Yeti brand items which I also like. The selection of hardware goods and outdoor work related items is also pretty vast. Convenient location.

Gilberts Hardware is a godsend in Dewitt. I prefer shopping at Gilberts than the big box stores. Their employees are super helpful. If you tell them what you need, they will help you find it. They know that store like the back of their hand. I've never had a bad experience shopping at Gilberts and I've been doing business with them for the better part of 5 years now.

Walk in and ask for Archie. Over the years, he has bailed me out of more situations than I can remember. I'm certain he has kept me from burning both my house and barn to the ground by recommending pointers to the various home projects I attempt. This is an excellent community resource. The addition of Stihl products has turned this place into my favorite toy store. They also offer UPS Shipping! This is my go to place.

Customer service is excellent. You are usually greeted at door by cashier unless they are ringing someone out, but even then they usually say hello. As soon as a worker in the store sees you, they ask if you need help and are quick to do so, unless you say you are all set then they leave you alone until you do. Prices "may" be slightly higher but beats driving across town to a big box store and the service gets you in and out quickly.
