Well we got there at 8:30 and the closed at 9, so there's that. Wait staff, we'll call them "B", was unpleasant due to late hour I suppose ps it was the 4th of July too. I did notice that the manager and other wait staff were pleasent. Got fish and chips from the under 10 menu, really good. Hot, not many to cook for at this point. No hush puppies although others had them. I didn't complain then so I probably shouldn't here either.... none the less I like their hush puppies. I was just nervous to ask an already uptight server for something else. Dining room is in need of new carpet and sprucing up this makes two restaurants in two days that have gone too long without new carpet... it has a smell
Not sure if we hit an off night or what the deal was but my son and I walked in on this Saturday evening and was told it would be a 45 min wait. The restaurant was empty when we arrived at 7:15pm. I thought that maybe the back was full. When we were seated, it too was empty. How is it a 45 min wait for an empty restaurant? Yes, I took pics. Also, we were told there was no outdoor seating. I’m staring at a few outdoor tables. Removed another star after being served. It seems as if the waiters only have 1 table to themselves. The dining area didn’t get busy until 9pm. The already absent staff was even more absent with the influx of patrons. My food was good but the service certainly turns me off to ever returning here.
My husband and I ate here Sunday afternoon, for the first time. Our server, Mindy, was hospitable and attentive. The view from our booth was delightful! The food was good and fresh. The portion sizes were decent and the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food served. I had the seafood platter and my husband had the popcorn shrimp. Each meal came with 2 sides and both were piping hot. Our only suggestion would be to drain a little more of the excess oil from the fish before serving. Overall, we were well satisfied with our experience!
My sister and I stopped by there for lunch today. The server was awesome I think her name was Teresa. Very sweet. We got our food it was awesome the fish and the shrimp and the red rice and corn was awesome. Hush puppies were great and we had chips and crab artichoke dip. We definitely left full and happy. We'll be going back.
This was walking distance from my hotel. The service was quick. Which was important because I was on a schedule. The food was good and the price reasonable, more so than some of the other places nearby. Actually went twice over my five day stay. All the meals i ate and that my companions ate were all good. I even enjoyed the fried okra.
Seems like the crowd is becoming less and less interested in eating here. The hushpuppies are the best I have ever had in my life! The tartar sauce is just mayonnaise with 2 pieces of sweet pickles. The calamari is not better than Olive Garden's but its good. The red rice was pretty good surprisingly.. overall the restaurant has a good menu and great taste
Decor is hokey, but the seafood was good. The oysters were not over fried, the way some places do them. Never tasted she crab soup with quite this seasoning; not as good as Maryland she crab soup. Fried okra was freshly fried and very good. Even tho I don’t usually eat hush puppies, these were so hot and smelled so good, I tried them. Excellent!
So the food was pretty good. Their alligator was spiced well and not greasy and their tacos were decently made. But the place was empty during lunch rush. Not a good sign. Our server was fast and polite. However in the middle of our meal the table next to us jumped up because a palmetto bug roach climbed across their table. The manager removed it and gave the couple 5$ off as they wanted gone asap. I know these critters are part of SC but they should probably stay outside. Was disappointed as the outside looked like a great raw bar but after the 6 legged guest we didn't feel comfortable ordering anything off the raw menu. Put those Arthopods on notice guys, your food is good and prices are right but nobody wants one of gods crunchy creatures as a lunch companion.
This was the worst restaurant experience in my life!!!! My family and I were headed to Myrtle Beach when a strong storm came and detoured our plans, since we were in Mt. Pleasant they voted to go to Gilligan's. Never again! When we walked in, i was ready to walk out. The place looked dirty and smelled. But everyone was just sooo hungry they didn't want to drive anymore. There were only 2 other tables occupied in the entire restaurant, we should of known, they got orders wrong, the waitress caught a bad attitude and the food was horrible! The red rice was like rocks, the collard greens were disgusting, our plates were just messed over cause the food was insulating, i mean we all left there still hungry. I can't even tell it all, just thee worst place period.
Ate lunch here on a Saturday and service was excellent. Clean and tidy restaurant. We had the shrimp and grits and flounder/ shrimp combo. We were served delicious hush puppies as our food was prepared. Our server, Brittany suggested the shrimp and grits and they were delicious! My guest ordered the flounder and shrimp with real homemade mashed potatoes and green beans. She remarked that the food was wonderful. The manager Andrew was friendly and very accommodating. Definitely recommend this restauant!
