I attended a private event here. I will give some stars for the young wait staff, who were really lovely. However, I had a really bad experience that people with food allergies, etc. should be aware of. I have celiac disease. For this reason, eating gluten makes me horrendously ill. The event hosts, therefore, kindly requested a gluten-free meal for me and assured me I would be taken care of. An older gentleman came out to serve my meal. He loudly announced its arrival from halfway across the room and made a big deal about it being a "special" meal such that it drew the attention of people sitting at tables all the way across the room. Then the server began to crack jokes about my food ! until finally transitioning to another topic. He did 15 minutes of an attempted stand up comedy routine, and it got so awkward the other servers came by to try to save us the awkwardness by engaging him on our behalf. Meanwhile, my food was utterly without flavor. There was no seasoning. It was a generous portion, just no good. But I am 99% sure that my "gluten free pasta" had been cooked in gluten contaminated pasta water or otherwise cross-contaminated because by the time I got home I became violently ill. I was sick for the next three days. For this reason, I can say that this restaurant does not take medical dietary restrictions seriously or handle them appropriately or with privacy and discretion. I don't know why I had to endure being made into a total public spectacle only to still come home seriously ill.
Michele Esposito and the team at The Waters Edge at Giovanni's are Phenomenal! I had my 40th Birthday Dinner here and Wow...... AMAZING! Michele Truly went Above and Beyond and met All My Expectations for EVERY SINGLE DETAIL to the Maximum. The Atmosphere is Amazing, The Service is Top Notch and Most Importantly they make You feel like a One of A Kind Guest! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Waters Edge at Giovanni's for ALL Your Special Occasion Needs. Looking for a Great place for Dinner STOP by the Restaurant, you will Never Disappointed!
We had our Wedding at The Waters Edge at Giovanni’s and could not be happier with the results. From the beginning Natalie took great care of us, hammering out every detail needed until the end of the wedding. Anything that we overlooked she was there to pick up the slack and advise us on what was needed. Any last minute changes were accommodated with haste! All of our guests had a great time, and everyone said the food was delicious, as it was. There were no hiccups and the staff was out of this world! Even JoAnne, one of the owners was very helpful on the wedding day! Do not overlook this hidden Gem!!!!
Not open got lunch on Friday, but they posted a post funeral luncheon. Excellent service and sliced steak with mashed potatoes. Full bar and wine cellar.
We recently had our wedding at Giovanni’s and it was everything we wanted and more. Joann, Sal and Natalie were amazing to work with, they made the night absolutely perfect. They made me feel at ease with all the planning and stress that comes with a wedding and they had everything under control. They made it easy to trust them with my vision of my wedding! The entire staff was great, the food was amazing, my guests were raving about how good everything was and still are. We also added the la dolce vita hour with all the desserts and it was the talk of the night! We are so pleased with the entire night and can’t wait to have more events at Giovanni’s! Thank you for making our wedding so special and memorable!

WEG is the best venue from start to finish. Look, people will remember the food, alcohol, and music at your wedding, and WEG ensured that the reception experience was stellar at every turn. The space is gorgeous; the staff is thorough and courteous; and the food is OUT OF THIS WORLD. People are STILL talking about how delicious everything was! The fresh mozzarella bar and the Venetian dessert hour were HUGE hits. The bartenders were befriended by our groomsmen and I hear the drinks were great do yourself a favor, don't drink on your wedding day. Your guests will have a sterling experience at WEG. Michele is all-world! The best coordinator ever! She is accessible 24/7, always kind and enthusiastic, and has answers for everything. She is also a great resource for other vendors and how to navigate those decisions. I was in such capable hands with her. I felt like she had become part of the family by the end of it! Additionally, every time I was there, Sal and JoAnn were present to me and very welcoming. JoAnn was even the one who bustled my dress at the reception! That's how involved everyone at WEG is. I simply cannot recommend them highly enough!
Giovanni's is a special experience. In the 1760's it was simply a barn where George Washington kept his horse. Today it is a paragon of taste, refinement, hospitality and the essence of an old world appreciation for the finer things in life. Giovanni has created not only a destination for gastronomic delights, but a function hall palace beyond compare. The staff is professional and dedicated. The decor is breathtaking. The setting is out of a dream. Enjoy.
Would recommend having any event here. Very nice atmosphere, and the service was awesome. So was the food my family chose for my grandmother's 90th
If your in the Darien/Stamford area The Waters Edge at Giovanni's is a must go! The owners of this place are extremely sweet, caring and humble.. really take true authentic care of this restaurant. Steakhouse and seafood eatery at your finest. You can hold events here! They have plenty of space. One of my favorites here is the seafood tower! For all my seafood lovers at a reasonable price! Photo is below. Take a visit you and your family! Totally worth it.
