Give Me Love
Mission Statement
We are organized for charitable purposes and for ministering the love of God through Jesus Christ to the community of Coalinga and its surrounding areas. It is by FAITH we believe that God will provide and it is our HOPE that God’s LOVE will shine brightly through us.
In such times as these good news is nice to hear once in a while.
Several months ago a few of us in Coalinga decided that we were going to try opening a non-profit second hand store. We wanted to be able to help those less fortunate and in times of trouble with donations of clothing and personal necessities and so our story begins.
Fortunately, we were able to rent a building right in the heart of downtown Coalinga. The building used to be Service Pharmacy for many years but when Walgreens came to town it closed its doors.
We were able to purchase our clothes racks from Gottschalks when it closed its doors and all of our hangers and some manikins from Anchor Blue when its Hanford store had to close its doors.
We have a board member who runs a mini storage who generously is allowing us to store our donations in some of his units. Save Mart Coalinga donated 10 of its shopping baskets for our customers to use while they shop. All of our items for sale in our store have been donated by the people of Coalinga and the Central Valley.
We painted and fixed up the inside of our building ourselves. Our sign inside was designed and painted graciously by one of our close friends in Coalinga.
People from all walks of life have come together and to help us clean items and clothing, price items, clean up our store so that it is a place that is a comfortable, beautiful, loving and also affordable to shop.
The Name of our store is Give Me Love. The used items in our store just need us to give them a little love to be useful again, but more importantly for such a time as this we need to all come together and share the love of God with each other.
We opened our doors Tuesday November 3, 2009.
