My Mother passed and we met with Jim. From the very beginning he was calm, assured and guided us through a painful process with skill and compassion. Can’t say enough good things about these guys.
Jim was kind, compassionate, and professional throughout our entire experience of planning services for the unexpected death of my mother in law. He made everything so seamless and got to know us throughout the process. Despite the fact we lost my mother in law far too young, her services were beautiful and Jim was helpful with every question or concern that came up. Thank you again, Jim!
Class / Compassion / Reverence... Perhaps this the reason for the longevity and appreciation of Gleason Funeral Home. In 1999 my Dad's service was through Gleason and it was done superbly; my Mom recently passed and again they did not let down - a blessed memory was delivered. The Gleason family goes back several generations and they truly represent their vocation with highest marks.
Every aspect of my mother's funeral was handled with kindness, caring and attention to detail, while making the process as easy as possible for the family. My father's funeral was also handled 5 years earlier at Gleason, and the relationship was longstanding from the prior generation. My mother used to point out Gleason's place each time we drove by when I visited after my father died, to remind me that this was her choice of funeral home when the time came. Many years ago, my older brother, whom I never met because he died at 3 days old, was buried in a small grave in downtown Schenectady with just a small stone, which was all my parents could afford at that time. Later on, maybe 25 years later, when my parents purchased their burial plots at another cemetery in nearby Niskayuna, my mother made arrangements to have the baby moved to her plot. Gleason handled all the details of that move. When my mother asked about the bill, she was told there was none. That always stuck with me as a profound kindness by Gleasons.
Mr Gleason is the most sincere and compassionate man. We are grateful for his guidance.
