Glenbrook Middle School

My son just graduated and he expressed how much he will miss this school as he was looking through his yearbook for the tenth time. He loved his teachers and was a good student but it wasn't until graduation that things hit home for him and me. I never realized how much of a close knit school it is. The administration, faculty and staff know these kids. Students and teachers are happy to see each other. Teachers are there early or stay late. I used to get a phone call from my son from his teacher's cell phone to let me know he'll be home soon. It was already 4:30. The school is spotless and clean and you can just tell everyone takes pride in it and does their part. Getting back to graduation. All the families cram into the auditorium. Yes it's hot and there's no air but the Glenbrook family is totally there together. After we cheered and watched the videos the graduates stay and dance and party and make lasting memories with their classmates. They are all together. No one leaves for dinner on their own or has to worry about who's invited or not. They stay and have one last great time with their Glenbrook Family before their family gets bigger at the high school. Glenbrook Middle School was a great experience. Lastly I knew there were a few teachers retiring this year and I was told they had one last walk down the halls with all the students. The students lined the halls. They clapped and cheered for the retiring teachers who high fived them as they went by. That is awesome and I'm sure a great memory for all!
