Starting with a handful of cash, a 55-gallon drum of our newly-formulated treadmill lubricant and several dozen one gallon plastic bottles, Glide Fitness Products modestly opened up shop in Santa Ana, California, six years ago. A strong seller from day one, Glide’s premium lubrication quickly became the preferred brand to club owners and service providers seeking a product that would properly protect expensive treadmills from thermal and friction-based degradation.
Rapidly building solid business relationships and winning-over new customers, Glide recognized a clearly underserved segment within the fitness industry. Adding talented new team members, acquiring essential intellectual property, expanding into a larger facility and assembling a world-class machine shop, Glide took positive steps to meet the need head-on. Now, in addition to an industry-leading family of lubricants, Glide has become a major force in factory-certified mechanical service, qualified electronic repair and reliable replacement parts that meet or exceed OEM specifications.
While the days of sharing one phone between employees and filling bottles of lubricant with a hand pump are in the past, Glide hasn’t strayed far from its humble roots.
