Can never say enough good things about Danny and his operation. He is a frugal, tidy owner who keeps an 80's vibe living strong by resusing anything he can. We visit 1-2 times a year. This year the camp was empty even though fire was 40-50km away. We had an amazing time! The river is the key highlight. Just warm enough so you can spend the day in it but always a nice refreshing nipple tightening adventure. Rent one of the rustic cabins and enjoy! Rooms: The cabins are simple. Much more like an 80s style summer camp than a cottage. Microwave, minifridge and some utensils provided.
We rented the RV on site and it was very clean and comfortable. I love the riverwalk and the scenery at this campground. My only complaint would be is where the RV is located on property, it's right between the office and owners house and we felt like we were camping in his backyard. I would rather have it closer to the river at the back of property. I have stayed in the cabins previously and it's much better scenery back there and less highway noise.
Great place for tent camping. The site and washrooms were clean. It's close to the Riverwalk which was awesome. The owners are kind and respectful. The campsites are cramped but I wouldn't say it's a big issue as long as your neighbors follow rules. Wouldn't mind visiting again.
There are full hook ups with pull through sites and back in sites. You can dry camp with RV or tenting. There are also 4 rustic cabins on site that facing the river. The campground is very clean. The owner is very helpful and friendly. See pictures for all the facilities in the campground. Nearby activities: Swimming in the river Quad trails nearby Near Princeton, 1/2 hour drive
Good location with a lovely river just down a very short walk. Mattresses in the cabin were rock hard and had bedbugs. Most campers had fires despite the province wide campfire ban due to extreme fire risk and no action was taken by the camp owners. Edit: to the reply, those were not propane fires you're just looking for an excuse to not do anything.
We have been camping here for over 15 years with family and friends and have never had an issue. There are many great reasons to camp here. It's a very safe place to let your kids be kids again. The grassy area is just the right size for an impromptu soccer match with new friends. And at night, light up a couple glow sticks and let them burn off that sugar rush from the roasted marshmallows. This place is safe at all hours of the day when you follow all the rules and common sense. The location of the campsite along the river is priceless. If you've never tubed down the Similkameen river then add that to your to-do list. But use top quality tubes or you could regret it. There's horse shoes and jumbo chess on site. Or bring your bocce ball set or ladder golf game. It's a manageable distance for towing from the lower mainland. Make this your stop over as you head to points unknown, or spend your whole vacation here. Easy access to fruit stands and wineries. And piece and quiet at night when you want to rest and recuperate. Friendly staff. Cleanest campsite. You won't regret staying here.
I've been camping private and public and stay in motels and hotels all the time but throughout my experiences and friends that I know not a single person has ever said a private campground has charged a fee for visiting or seeing them at a campground where they were camping. This Korean owner is watching me and nosy looking around at our camping area and bothering us as soon as I arrived to visit my family at the campground. He asked my family to pay $10 each person just to visit them for the afternoon. I was so surprisedly shocked and unhappy about it. I told him you can't charge people for simply visiting a little bit then go home. He said it's his business rule. I told him I'll give a bad review on Facebook then he turned around of accusing me of threatening him given his broken English and ask me to leave his property. On top of that making the matter worse the area is not safe one of my family members broke her wrist and rushed to the hospital due to sharp rocks, uneven and not properly built foundations. With these experiences I'd never visit this place ever again this is a nightmare!
Nice little place by the river . The hosts are awesome . Cooling off in the river or going for a lazy float down the river you will have a good timeService: 4/5
Mattress terrible! No blanket or pillow. Cabins very close together. Dim light. Right on the river. Nice spotRooms: 1/5
Please see my posting under " Charlie Lou" earlier today and owner's response to my posting. The owner's response totally and irresponsibly missed the concerned and raised point of the main issue the liability clause as a business operator which is the utmost importance-SAFETY-of his customers and anyone in his facility. He should visit WCB website and learn more about this issue. Her fall of broken wrist has nothing to do with number of people approved by owner before booking and by the way nobody hit her to cause that fall. The fall was the result of unsafe area.
