Gold 'N Crisp Fried Chicken

Literally the best fried chicken place there is! Been coming here as a kid and never disappoints coming here when I come to town and visit. Their burgers are delicious as well. Friendly folks that work there. And has a very classic look to it.. A must stop place if you're ever driving thru La Grange!!

The food is pretty good. Hot and fresh. And the customer service is awesome. You will not regret giving this place a try.

If this is open, it doesn’t matter if you’re hungry or not. Get some fried chicken. Don’t even think about it. If you die one day because of eating fried chicken from here, it will have been worth it.

Some of the most delicious chicken and fries I've had in my life! Friendly and helpful staff, fast turn around even when making it fresh. Prices are great and reasonable. This is one of the best "finds" we've had. Completely found this by accident and couldn't be happier. We will definitely be going back - likely on a Tuesday, when they have a 2 piece special for just $1.99.

I’m not sure what people are smoking to give this place 4 or 5 stars. It probably should be closed down. Obvious cross-contamination between food. I could taste all the food they cook. Chicken that tasted like shrimp. They charged me over $13 for 3 tenders, fries and a sweet tea. It wasn’t worth half of that. Undercooked fries, chicken had no flavor, it was dry and the “famous” tea was worse than the junky store bought stuff. They should be in a luxury building at these prices. Avoid this place at all cost. Only reason they’re getting 2 stars is because they put extra food in there. In a way I guess that’s punishment though since I had to eat it. Have to make a happy plate.

This was a childhood favorite, my family and I have always made sure to stop by when going through Lagrange. However, as sad as it is to say.... it’s just not the same since being sold. The burgers no longer have the yummy cheddar cheese and the chili is no longer the homemade chili we were used to. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a good burger, just not an amazing burger. At least I still have the memories of getting these tasty burgers and going out to White Rock park for a picnic. I will say that the service isn’t quite the same either. We waited over an hour for the food I called in 20 min prior to showing up, and while I don’t mind waiting... we still only received half our order. Times have really changed and our beloved childhood spots have as well.

I got to eat here this week. I tried the burger because of the Texas Bucket List visiting here. The burger was real good, but I got a piece of dark meat chicken, because I heard it was awesome. I think it is the best fast food chicken I have ever had. Very crispy, juicy, and so much flavor. I hope to re-visit. It did not disappoint.

Has switched hands a few time over the past year or so. The friend chicken white box is fantastic. an ideal iteration of what you want when you think of fried chicken. Sides i find to be good, but served in tiny portions. I'm curious as to why both local chicken places do this.. bread is lacking and something i can find at the local grocery store. But the fried chicken. that's why you go here. Believe they now take credit/debit cards.

Amazing burgers and fried chicken. Even with the change in ownership not much here has changed. One new addition is that they now take credit card which is an excellent way to get a burger and some chilli cheese fries when you don't usually carry cash. Can usually be busy but definitely worth the wait.

A group of seven just ate lunch there today and it was great. Chicken was crispy and juicy and the new owners are really friendly. One guy had the burger and said it was fantastic as well. Another guy had the chicken sandwich and loved it!
