This is a very nice state park! Great sites, great playground, great/clean bathrooms! Definitely reccomend the lighthouse tour. That was really neat and the overlook is phenomenal. Only downside is you have to buy firewood outside the park, and there's not a great fishing area at the boat launch/marina part of the park. Playground: It's a lighthouse! Newer equipment! Restrooms: Very clean and tidy! Dog-friendliness: Pet friendly and offer pet sites Picnic area: Good shade coverage
Cute. Quaint Quiet This is a small campground with a power and water loop. Most of these campgrounds do not have water at the individual sites but this one does! Several of the sites directly face the water. In another section you can get a site right on the water but no utilities. The other loop does not have utilities. They also have four Yurts. But the main attraction and charm of this quaint little area is the lighthouse. Tours are given daily by the resident host. Playground: Very large and well maintained playground. Also a large mowed ball field, and a basketball court Restrooms: As with most of these parks the restrooms are very dated and in need of upgrading. However in this particular park one of the restrooms has already been decommissioned and a huge modular restroom building has been brought in. This is a wonderful update
Big rig friendly Campground. Quiet, well maintained, NO SEWER but there is a dump station. Sites are a fair distance apart. We had enough room to park our RV, mini cooper and hauler end to end. Excellent trails nearby. Take bugspray! In late July, early September blackberries were quite abundant. We picked our fair share. Some of the trails are muddy. Take the tour of the lighthouse. Good history and great views at the top. We would come here again! Restrooms: Very clean and well kept.
#BeautifulSunsets #Lighthouse #SilentCamping I was very skeptical before booking this place but I am very happy with my decision now. The State Park is beautifully maintained. I stayed in B Loop and did Tent Camping Few points to consider and note: 1. A lot if sites have water view front 2. There is a children play area 3. Washrooms were super clean and both hot/cold water was available 24/7 4. Woods are NOT SOLD here. Buy wood locally through CASH payment. Nearest place is Crosby’s Barker Gas station. Here you can buy wood if you don’t have cash. Rest there are a lot of places which sell wood on cash. Best rates would be $10 for a complete row of wood. 5. The lighthouse seem to have haunted stories like any other lighthouse. Maybe of your interest! You can book a Cottage which is $200 a night which is on the 2nd floor of the lighthouse to experience the thrill 6. There are water outlets at the RV Campsites and other water outlets at different tent sites 7. I personally feel that this is more for RV/Trailer campsite and less interesting for Tent camping. Only a few sites are good for tent. I was lucky to get a nice view. 8. There were less insects and bugs compared to other camping areas which was definitely a plus. 9. There is a store available actually office which closes at 6 daily. You get 10lbs ice here for $3. 10. There is minimal fee for Lighthouse tour. I highly recommend to tour the lighthouse. Prices in my photos attached. Sunsets were the BEST.
Stayed at site C-45, corner spot with tons of extra space, private, waterfront, amazing. This campground is very well maintained, facilities are super clean. Fellow campers were nice, staff was friendly. The waterfront is a steep, rocky cliff. Thus, you can't access the water or fish from this specific site but the sunrises and sunsets are priceless. Playground: Large area with good open viewing to keep an eye on the kids wherever they are on the playground. Lots of climbing available and some separate areas for the younger ones. Surface was clean and well maintained. Restrooms: Cleaner than some 4 start hotels I've stayed at. Large, no odors, hot water and great water pressure in the showers. Dog-friendliness: You will be asked about the rabies vaccination upon check-in so have your paperwork ready. Plenty of dog walkers and dogs but hardly any barking. Very dog friendly camp ground with responsible dog owners.
Great park! It’s a small park but very cozy. Great playground for kids, nice comfort stations and very clean. Be prepared for mooing in the morning! There is a dairy farm not far away, it’s a great sound to wake up to!
Beautiful and large campsites. The restrooms were clean and the shower was hot and great pressure. Phone service was good. TV was iffy at times. Great playground for kids. Staff was helpful and very friendly.
Nice place to bring your family with your campers or just to enjoy alone. There is a lighthouse you can tour and get great views from the top but it is only open until 4pm. And also clean and nice bathrooms all around the park. It was extremely quiet there which seemed a little unusual but was very relaxing. There is also a beach down the road more and a marina. Would recommend for sunsets!
The campground is very kept, the bath houses are very clean and the staff are very nice. There is no beach access in the park, however there is a boat launch down the road. Sunsets at Golden Hill are magnificent. Restrooms: Very clean. Dog-friendliness: Dogs are welcome.
The historical park here is perfect. There is actually two entrance almost a mile apart. The boat lunch is closed but they charge 6 dollars. The campsite is charged at 7 dollars and quite pretty too. There is so much nature around; we even saw a squirrel with a red tail and a blue birds. Def. A MUST VISIT.
