I joined Gold's gym in November. I really love this gym. It has everything you need to . Achieve all of your fitness goals. All the latest fitness equipment , weights and treadmills. Different classes you can take. They offer personal training. They have a steam room . My favorite thing of all . Is the hydro massage chair. It is amazing especially after a nice workout. I would recommend this gym to anyone. The price is very good too.
The gym is nice and clean however I think that they should have an employee stationed by the locker room. I find it very annoying when women enters the steam room with sweaty and in their workout clothes and sneakers. When it cleary states the rule before you enter the steam room. I think that is why the steam room smells like mildew at times. The staff are friendly however the front desk personnel are horrible. This woman on the photo shouldn’t in customer service. She’s arrogant and not friendly at all. The front desk is the face of the gym they’re first thing that people see when people walks in. She was rude. The scan thing wasn’t working this morning so I asked her if she can let me in but told me to wait for the guys who were signing up to get in. I have a card don’t know why she can’t just let me in. The other rep let me in. The hydro massage are not working half of the time. Oh the towels are way too short or not long enough to your body and i am not even heavy.
I love this gym! Great classes. Clean. Love the Mountain View’s from the treadmills and the skylight in the center of the gym floods the gym with natural light. I have made many new friends with members and instructors there. Keep up the good work!
I have been at this gym for 11 months now and I have to say it's been both a positive and negative experience in every way. Customer service is straight-up terrible, every time you want to ask a question about something on the phone they purposely put you on hold for 10-25 mins so that you just hang up your call, I know this is true because one time they forgot to put me on hold and you can hear in the background the same person who took my call, talking and not giving a #### until he realized that he forgot to put me on hold and many more instances where they don't answer back. Equipment has been on a serious decline lately. Up to the first 5 months I've been there any equipment that got damaged was usually fixed within days if not it would take max 1 week, nowadays it takes them at least 2 weeks to fix one thing so you can tell they're going backward than forwards. It is safe to say they have been too focused on making money that they forgot what they stand for and what their roles are. Overall despite all of these problems and many more I still like the gym, it's small but has a good environment and good people. So, in the end, it's up to the customer whether or not they want to join this gym but I suggest they look somewhere else or if they don't care about these problems then yeah maybe not a bad gym to join.
Not worth it, it's just an inconvenience all around. Machine's are broken, with no sign or indication when they will be fixed, sanitizing stations are always empty or out of order. Equipment is mediocre, with padding so stiff your likely to develop rashes/blisters, weekend warrior's eager to shuffle weights around leave them behind like 5 year old kids leaving toys out. Weights don't seem to get put back by anyone or even staff members. It gets overcrowded even at hours that aren't supposed to be busy, Same people at the same weight area, doing the same workouts hogging the same machines everyday, don't skip leg day bro
I’ve been a member since the gym opened. Since then, it’s become a much younger crowd…like lots of 15-16 year olds working out in packs. There are a lot of things that could be done to make the gym better, starting with a PA system to remind members to stack there weights and not spend so much time sitting at a machine looking at their phones causing others to wait unnecessarily. Fitness machines maybe not the best term are often out of commission for way too long. I’ve been working out for most of my life so I can always substitute one exercise for another, but really shouldn’t have to if members understood basic gym etiquette and this Gold’s did a better job of repairing their equipment. Parking is horrendous if you’re entering the parking structure in your car. I ride a motorcycle. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be a member. With that said, the staff are friendly and for the little I pay, it’s worth it. I would also advise Management to open up the private workout rooms and class area when not in use And to have someone with someone with an outgoing personality and a sense of authority walking around and reminding everyone, but particularly the younger members to treat the gym with respect. I’ve seen this a couple of times and it’s effective. Come on SoCal-Glendale Gold’s…you can do it!
For the price point it’s a great gym. Yes, machines need maintenance sometimes, peak hours are crowded, there are gaggles of teens hanging out/swarming machines … but overall it’s clean, friendly and has most everything you need at a super affordable price. Do miss that they took away all towel service. You want a white glove or concierge experience, join Equinox. If you’re from back east, it’s like a middle point gym somewhere between Crunch and Blink. Gets the job done.
Very unprofessional staff including the manager himself, The question chart that they have and make you answer Is for a middle-aged divorced woman who just want to get started and lose weight just FYI, I've been working out for years and my physic looks better than all their trainers combined. They were just trying to sell and sell, I went there at 12:00 p.m. and it was impossible to find an open machine I cannot imagine How is it going to look like around 4:00 to 6:00pm. this gym should respect its members and stop adding more
The gym is nice mostly brand new equipment. The free weight area gets extremely busy which isn't unusual for a gym but here it feels particularly packed for some reason. The dumbbells get hogged pretty frequently so be aware of that.
I personally think the management for golds gym is horrible. The reason being is that I went to sign up for a free small trial that I had seen from a friend and when we went to the desk to fill all of the paperwork out one of the workers told me that they ran out of free trials. He said this while a bunch of free trial posters were posted everywhere including on the very desk that we were conversations on. I ended up paying not much heed in the moment and paid for an enrollment as he said that I could get a refund within a week if I wanted. I went to the gym once within that whole week and came back on the final day to ask for a refund as the employee said I could. I went to an employee and talked to them about a refund. He went to his higher ups in management and then came back to me saying I’d get a refund with 14-23 days. I thought it was odd, but I just went along with my days. Fast forward 20ish days later and I still didn’t get a refund. I went to call the gym and they said they couldn’t do anything for me and to go and call financial services. I called financial services and they informed me that not only am I not getting a refund I’m also still member of the gym, so I almost ended up paying another monthly fee. The lady who helped me was kind, but informed me there wasn’t much she could do. She ended up cancelling my membership in order to not pay another fee. I ended up not pressing further as I had other events going on in my life, but I just wanted to inform other potential trials of this gym that they really shouldn’t trust the management here
