Came in for a new putter grip and was helped immediately. Staff was friendly and helpful and their repair person had my new grip done in minutes. My partner came in with me and she was surprised by how chill the atmosphere was. Probably gonna get her outfitted here if she decides to take up the game. My only critique would be the organization of the putter grips but that doesn't seem like enough to knock off a star.
Got an excellent fitting for my irons, fast delivery,Thanks to Matt for superior service!
I thought the reviews were exaggerating. “They won’t be that bad, they can’t possibly that incompetent” I was wrong. After 30 mins of wandering aimlessly around the store I was able to finally get the attention of an employee. I was trying to buy a driver and wanted to hit it in the simulator to compare my contact with my current driver. I was very clear that I was buying a driver today. The sales associate said I can’t hit that driver because it’s in the plastic, I said fine, I’ll pay for it and then I’ll meet you in the simulator. He said he wasn’t sure that he could do that. I asked why and he wasn’t able to come up with an answer. He asked why I wanted to see the club in the simulator if I was buying it already. I said I wanted to compare club speed to my current driver. He said they only offer simulator time for fitting purposes and that it costs $69.99, or free if I buy a driver. I said no problem and I’m happy to do that. I motioned to my golf shoes and that I’m going to change into them and he said “I don’t think we really have time for that” My dude. I’m about to drop $649 on a driver and you’re “not sure” if I can swing it? Screw that. This place is the worst.
My lower star give to GG is based on trade in value alone. Not only do they not take a trade in for the purchase of a used club but it has to be like for like club. old driver to purchase new driver. Pfst, on that nonsense. Drive up the road to Roger Dunn and trade your clubs for whatever you want to purchasestore credit
Great customer service. I had an issue with a cracked club face on a brand new club. Luis, at the Pasadena location, helped me out immensely, and got it all taken care of for me. I will continue to be a customer for a long time to come. I will also recommend all of my family and friends to check them out as well.
Good sized store with lots of equipment. Staff is very friendly and helpful people working there. They're very knowledgeable and able to explain things in a clear way. I'll be coming back for all my golf needs.
Terrible customer service in person and over the phone. I called asking about G/fore products and he said he's never heard of them so he "guessed" no and didn't go check or ask someone else. This store used to be so much better when it was Golfsmith. The manager of this store needs to get his employees under check. I have been in the store a few times out of desperation when I need something and every time in person it's horrible customer service. Just try to find your nearest RodgerDunn and be done with this place.
I spent 40 minutes looking at sets of high end irons. I needed some informed educated advice. Who gave it to me? No one. I’m gong to Golf Tech on Colorado at Sierra Madre. Maybe someone will notice me there.
Went in for an iron fitting. Said I was interested in trying a few different brands to see which one I liked best. Got about 6 or 7 shots with the first club before they took it away from me to move on to the next one. Obvious they were trying to speed the process along and get me in and out as soon as possible. Every request to swap to a different club felt like I was asking them to waste their time, and there was nobody else waiting. I didn't have my greatest ball striking day in the hitting bay, but the service was bare minimum, at most. Got no input on shaft type or stiffness. Never got a chance to see and compare numbers for more than just a few seconds. About halfway through the fitting service, the attendant helping me bailed and left someone else in charge. Only positives from the visit were that I got to try a few different irons that a lot of other stores don't have, and that they ultimately didn't charge me for the fitting. Super disappointed. Won't be returning.
This Golf Galaxy location store culture is questionable. My experience here has always been pretty bad. They don't allow you to try clubs unless you pay for a fitting. Also, brought in a used club to get modified and the club service employee was dishonest in his assessment of my club I'm an avid golfer and knew more than this guy telling me that if he did what I asked, it would mess up the club and that it would be better if I sold this club and bought a new one from them. It started to piss me off how dishonest this guy was. I was just thinking how often he must do this to uneducated customers who don't know any better. Multiple other times I was at this store, I would overhear the sales ppl with other vulnerable customers and could easily tell they weren't actually helping the customer and just trying to sell them a club. I really don't think most of these guys are qualified to be helping new golfers. I felt like many of these sales guys could have just been some weekend hacker who just got hired at the store. I think the issue with this store is more about how the manager sets the 'sell, sell, sell' culture than what Golf Galaxy as a store really represents. They really need an immediate change in management personnel at this store. The employees seem nice but they really are a bunch of dishonest sales clowns, reminding me of car dealership sales ppl, with the only intent to upsell vulnerable customers who don't know anything about golf. If possible, DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. If you're able, I'd highly recommend the Golf Galaxy location in Upland. It's a much bigger store and the customer service is so much better. I haven't had a negative experience at that store at all.
