Staff was very friendly. We were seated in the bar area not by request and it got pretty crowded in there and the bartender was the main waiter for every table as well as maintaining the bar! So not as responsive, but understandable. Food was very good. Lots of choices for every appetite. I had the salmon, short ribs were enjoyed thoroughly by my better half. We also enjoyed the hummus and wok veggies. Cost was about $35 pp without alcohol.
Homemade cheese perogis, kielbasa and fiddleheads were delcious! The service was outstanding! I want to go back!
Went there today for lunch with my wife and it was a delight! When we walk into a restaurant and see a member of the kitchen staff picking fresh greens from the garden, its a good start! The experience begins with sourdough bread and a mung bean flat bread that was exploding with flavor. My wife ordered the lobster soup to start and I the squash blossoms. They both were delicious and contrary to a previous review, it had plenty of lobster. For entrees I had the BBQ pork sandwich that came with fries and a peach cole slaw. Being from the south, I had never heard of putting peach in cole slaw but it was delicious. The sandwich was also very good, but no way I could finish it. My wife had the caesar salad with crab and again, absolutely delicious. The outdoor dining was terrific, a giant pergola that was uniquely decorated. The service was also fantastic. Meghan was professional, attentive and funny. It really was a pleasure. The prices honestly were on par with what you'd expect in Connecticut for fresh and unique food. Minus the drinks, the bill was under $100. Looking forward to returning and trying some other items on the menu.
We had our Christmas Eve lunch here party of 6. Got seated at a corner round table, and were very comfortable. Wait staff was friendly, accommodating, and informative. Food was creative and tasty. The grilled octopus appetizer $21 is big enough to be an entrée and it was delicious that's what I had. I also had the warm spinach salad with tofu, grapes and pineapple and it was very good. My wife's scallops with butternut squash was excellent. Would definitely go back. Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options the warm spinach salad was vegan.
Amazing. Service is impeccable. Food is unparalleled. We started with the stuffed squash blossoms get two orders!. Salads were amazing... Entree of salmon on cornbread and beef tenderloin with fresh corn pudding. Drinks were just as amazing. Slava Ukraine!
I've been here many times over the years and I always have a great meal. The New York strip with the homemade onion straws and the homemade ketchup are outstanding. Always a treat.Food: 5/5
Went last weekend... In the past, we always order Jacks Oysters but will not in the future. What used to be a full substantial oyster in the past has devolved into what seemed to be an oyster that was quartered and hidden in a mound of breadcrumbs. It was a huge disappointment as this used to be our favorite appetizer. Shame on you for charging $22 a plate for fried breadcrumbs. Boooooooooo!
Amazing food and I do not give out many five stars!!! Had oysters, and lamb meatballs. Lots of other interesting menu items I could have picked including vegan and veggie options. The mix of flavors was perfect with the lamb, feta, tomato sauce and eggplant and zuchini. Wine was delicious. Decor in bar was very artsy. This place is a real pleasure to visit. If only we lived closer.
Saw the restaurant from the road, looked inviting, especially after driving around in the snow so we stopped for lunch. Relaxing atmosphere for fine dining, expensive for lunch, but a nice treat. Very diverse menu. I ordered a 6 Oz grass fed burger on a brioche with bleu cheese and a side of horseradish mayo I added those, why not..? One word "Delish." Fries looked hand cut and were tasty. The cole slaw was a nice treat. Not your typical cole slaw, it was made with care and not super wet. Nice portions for the meal. I couldn't finish. My friend ordered the pulled pork, and though she is picky about her pulled pork southerner she really enjoyed it. Although the menu is little eclectic, both entrees were tasty and nice to see some fresh ingredients and menu diversity in the area. Next time I would go for dinner and also try some of the desserts. Our waitress Kelly was super nice, friendly, and a great server. I would go back and highly recommend.
We chose to sit at the bar. Mike, our bartender and server was awesome. We had salads and sourdough bread. Both outstanding, along with the great service and atmosphere. We enjoyed very much.
