Started to come to Phil for hair cut after moving to Milford last year. Always nice and friendly during hair cut. I am really satisfied with his service and we talk about a lot of stuff like food, culture every time. Highly recommend and will come to him for sure.Service: Haircut
We tried this place as he seemed to come across very accepting to anyone. We started out thinking this place was good for the price but was told today that Phil no longer wants to cut our hair because it was not a good fit personality wise. Personality wise? Your job is to cut hair. But speaking of personality, its Phil's that should be addressed. Whatever hair cutting talent he may have, he lacks in customer service. He seems to be more worried about anything happening to his stuff then how the customer feels. During one haircut, he freaked out because feet were placed on a part of his "extremely expensive barber chair" in the wrong spot and instead of saying something like, just make sure you don't put your feet there, he needed to tell us that his chair is expensive and there are signs everywhere to not do that. Another occasion, we came in for a haircut and the bench he had in his space, which apparently is not for sitting, just storing his own personal stuff, we asked if we could move the bag that was on there to the floor to be able to sit down. He responded with "There is $5,000 worth of camera equipmentkept in a backpack in there, I am not putting it on the floor" Doesn't offer to move it somewhere else or even offer another place to sit, he was perfectly fine creating this uncomfortable situation and making me stand. He treats us this way and then thinks its completely professional to cancel on the same day of the appointment because personalities are not a good fit. That's fine, the personality we were met with does not deserve our business.Service: Haircut
Phil is by far has given me the best haircut I'll ever have in my life. He's shown his skills through patience and listens to what and how you want your haircut to be done. He followed all Covid-19 safety procedures and have been extremely accommodating with whatever you may need. It wasn't just a haircut, but an experience. Thank you Phil for a job well done. I'll see you soon!!
Excellent haircut as expected but got more from the out of this world ambience, the safest room in Hotel Artemis. The master of the carft is friendly and knowledgeable, we were discussing whats to come with chatGPT. I hope you will enjoy the experience too!

After moving to Connecticut last winter, I was bummed about having to find a new barbershop, so I continued to see my barber up in Massachusetts based on when I was visiting family, but the time finally came when my schedule failed me. I started my Google search and landed here. What kind of person has all 5-star reviews?! Phil at Good Rats. Love this place. Life is hectic enough, and this shop is a welcome break from that. A great cut by a nice guy for a fair price. Do yourself a favor and support this business!
Firstly, Phil is an amazing guy. Personable, inviting, extremely knowledgeable at his craft. The experience I've had is like no other. Being a woman coming into a barber shop, your aren't always welcomed with open arms however Phil made me comfortable from minute one. He did a FANTASTIC job and has one of the most comfortable shampoo chairs I've ever sat in ladies, no headache from the normally huge bump under your neck! Not only did Phil take the time to listen to me, but he REALLY listened to me following up with questions bringing ideas to the table that I had ruled out or hadn't even considered. To the aesthetics, the chair is awesome and only wish I could add one to my decor. The whole vibe overall is unique, and a welcomed change from typical barber shops and salons I've been in and that's quite a few. Phil is by appointment only, but you can text the phone number and set it up, it's just that easy. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, skilled, conversational, friendly experience with a fantastic haircut to boot this is definitely the place to get all that and more! Thanks Phil, I've found my spot!!
