Good sam ER

Advocate continues to be the most disappointing health system I’ve ever experienced in my life. If I could give 0 stars I would. I was admitted to the Good Sam ER on Friday with serious abdominal pain and what I thought was a bacterial virus I may have picked up from traveling. They ran so many tests and collected samples, said they would let me know by latest on Monday what the cause was. After not hearing from anyone for three days and now feeling better, I called the ER to see why no one had updated me with my results. They then told me that they didn’t collect enough of a sample so they weren’t able to test anything… LIKE WHAT?? So if I hadn’t called to ask them they just would have never updated me??? Now I have no idea what I had last week and it’s too late to go back and run tests again as I’m feeling fine now. The most disappointing healthcare system ever, I don’t know how they have any patients

ER wait times are ridiculous! Third time here in 4 years and it just gets worse. Why don't they tell you it will be hours and hours whether you are in pain or seriously ill. They have no sympathy or judgment. In my 4th hour.

My cousin is a er doctor here and I see reviews saying how slow it is but these guys are swamped and still work there butts off to make sure patient's get the best care possible. COVID has strained us all and there are also other injuries they have to deal with as well. My personal experience here has been a good one. There is more going on then ppl realize and I thank them profusely for all they do and all they have to go through.

If you want to wait +6hours in the waiting room only to receive the worst care go to Good Samaritan

They were super busy when I arrived, but were very friendly and concerned about me and all the pain I was in. Checked in on me always and made sure l was doing ok while waiting for doctors to order my different scans

Very slow and bad service, I think emergency means need to get treatment as soon as possible, it's doesn't mean if some is vomiting who is just 2 years old boy and you don't care.

Got hung up on and overheard them saying people are so annoying, rude !

Excellent and caring staff, Tomika my first nurse was great and the nurse on the second shift I forgot her name but she had space buns and brunette hair in space buns and blue eyes and she was also so nice and caring. Dr DeStefani was also accurate and quick with a diagnosis. Although the wait was long for the ultrasound I understand it was a busy night. The Ultrasound tech was so sweet and gentle and made sure I was comfortable with the procedures, she was amazing I think part of her name tag said Yin. Everyone was so amazing. Jeff the transporter was nice too.
