I won an auction for a used paperback book listed by Goodwill Sacramento Valley & Northern Nevada on ShopGoodwill.com. The shipping for the item wound up being overpriced for the size and weight. So, I emailed them to see if they could recalculate the cost for me. They replied saying they only had one large box in stock to ship everything they listed, which made the UPS fee higher. So, I asked for a refund, since I could buy the book new on Amazon for less with free shipping. I was nice about it and mentioned they could easily re-list the book and sell it to someone else, since it had not even been processed yet. They replied that it's against policy to give refunds because items are sold "as-is." When I reminded them my request had nothing to do with the condition of the item, they still claimed there was absolutely no discrepancy on their part and would not refund me. Furthermore, they scolded me for not reading the three long paragraphs of tiny legal ease hidden way down at the bottom of their woefully outdated website. At this point, I may have inferred they seemed completely incapable of exemplifying the "Goodwill" embodied by their store name. Their responses showed they would rather lose a customer over one sale than do the right thing. Ultimately, their final response was to go ahead and refund me, but then they tried blocking me from ever bidding on their site again, claiming I was "Extremely Rude." Beware of this store!

I went to the Rancho Cordova store today, July 22 at 2:50 in the afternoon to drop off four bags of clothes, shirts, Jeans, sweaters, sweatshirts, some are Brad new with tags. The gentleman saw me pull up and the doors were open and he told me that he was closed. I told him that it was only 2:50 and he said he closed at three o'clock. He then closed the doors and yelled" see you tomorrow". Does not seem that is good business practice. I think you should hire someone that knows how to read a watch. I will be taking the items to a different location that appreciates nice donations,ie a different company. From now on if you are my only choice I would rather throw the items in the trash rather than donate to you. If I had known you don't need donations I would not have wasted my time. Never again.

Great place to find items at prices you will never find anywhere else. Customer assistance and satisfaction are not on every employee's list but it is all about the customer. Now that they play classic rock instead of that horrible rap, shopping has been made soothing. But whatever you buy, "shopper beware" most items are donated.

Me and my husband went in the goodwill on florin to purchase a pillow top mattress. Your manager informed us that the price on the wall and that an associate quoted us was incorrect. The sign as well as the associate stated pillow top mates 120 but when we took for pickup mamanger said another 75 was needed so when we asked due to theor mistake and their wrong price on the sign why not honor it he stated it's just not what you do. Please let me know if this is standard policy. Thank you. He rather lose the 140 sale and gain nothing. Businesses should have accurate prices and honor mistakes made by them or associates we even stated what we wanted to the checkout guy and he chated us according to their price book. Please contact me in regards to my disatisfaction.

This is such a scam I had this gentleman here and harass me about cashing that check that I supposedly received today he insisted I cash a check that I received today I said I don't know what you're talking about I'm not interested anymore so you need to leave me alone he replied you're kidding right I said stop texting me I'm going to report you to the police so today when I get home there is a FedEx envelope on top of my table with a check for $1450. The scary part about this is that he got my address I'm going to contact with the pool tomorrow with all this information people beware be cautious be safe.

This company is not organized at all. They hired strange ass ppl honestly, Sacramento location is awful lol that city is full of gossips, hater's, lier's. Run don't work here and they will under pay you. Not too many Black ppl in high positions either.

Someone who claims his name is Terry from Goodwill Industries on 8001 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95826 sent me a Bank America check for $1890 allegedly for my used furniture worth $300. He claims this extra money is movers fee. Check was mailed out from MDC Kurprint LLC, Rose Pkwy Ste 200. Henderson, NV 89052. "Terry" insists i cash this check. Beware! This is some scam that unawarely would make me accept terms of some shady agreement. If Terry is simply a Santa Claus I sincerely apologize for this post however 99.99% chance is this company or their employees engage in some shady business behind the scenes of charity!
