Tried this restaurant for the first time, I am very pleased with our male server; he knew his stuff on what’s on the menu, his customers service was an 10/10. The food was delicious, wait time 10-15min. As for Spice levels, they were well leveled for each dish. Will definitely come back again and try more dishes. Suggestion for the female worker at the front desk: if your going to prep food at the front counter please don’t be eating the ingredients in-front of your customers AKA: the beans.
Sigh. Sadly. Not what it used to be. We haven't been since like 2017/18. Back then we considered this our high-end-go-to-Chinese food place on the South Hill. We visited with friends and while it was great to see the addition of another room to comfortably seat our party of 5 the food experience wasn't that good. The food simply disappointed. It was not to our taste. The lemon chicken appears to be all dark meat. We didn't end up eating it. The fig chicken dish was swimming in sauce. Our friend ordered it and he slugged his way through it, but definitely didn't enjoy it. Our Smoked Pork Noodle was okay, but I preferred the old way of preparing the pork. This new version was too smoky. Too dry. The Prawn Cashew Dish was way too gingery. My husband loves ginger, but I do not and found it overwhelming. Ginger is not even mentioned on the menu. The sweet and sour chicken dish was okay. Didn't take photo of it. Sadly, just none of the dishes created the, "oh wow! I love the taste of this," experience for us. I know that tastes vary among humans, but it's pretty surprising when 5 different dishes are ordered and none were really to anyone's liking.
For decades, family-run Gordy’s has served up tasty Chinese cuisine, ingredients are fresh, and flavors range from Hunan to Taiwan. Fun fact, years ago, Elon Musk’s mom dietitian and author Maye Musk, gave a presentation in Spokane, long story short, my wife and I took Elon’s mother to Gordy’s for an enjoyable dinner. Arrive early, or expect potential hour-long waits, or hang out in the adjoining bar room aka The Dojo. One visit is not enough for a restaurant like Gordy’s!
Absolutely a hidden gem! The service was great and very attentive as we were first timers. Highly recommend the dumplings. So delicious.Food: 5/5
Best authentic Chinese food in town. Every dish has been absolutely outstanding... do yourself a favor and order the dumplings as an appetizer! Don't be put off by the humble setting, the food is worth it!Food: 5/5
Highly discourage going here. I have never returned food before. All dishes were returned to the kitchen although it was a beautiful presentation, the taste was way off. Not one of us was able to eat any dish, we all tried each other's dish to see if we could trade. We each took at least 3 bites of food and tried to continue but couldn't. Two of us are vegan, and our stomachs were really upset. The rice was also chewy and dry. Not kid friendly either. Vegetarian options: Vegan, GF, and vegetarian
I heard a lot of great things about this restaurant, so I decided to give it a try….which i regretted. Coming from an Asian, the food lacks the typical Chinese flavor. No wok hei, no MSG, there is almost no aroma in the food. They didn’t properly cook the ginger and garlic to release the aroma. There is also no Asian cook working here, which might can help them improve their food…Honestly there is more flavor in Panda Express than here. However, the staff was very friendly and kind. The presentation was also A+.
Tasty, fast and cool inside on a hot day worth going. Been several times. Consistent in food and service. Kid-friendliness: Kids were there, all was well
Great place to get your tongue numb from the Sichuan peppers. Food was pricey, but was flavorful. Portions were just right. Not too small & not too big. The dumplings were in a delicious oil with bakchoy and other veggies. A must try for appetizers. The dan dan noodles really numbed the tongue, but had a comfort taste to it. Orange chicken was crunchy & well seasoned. Waiter provided good customer service and we were checked on multiple times if we needed anything. 3 dishes & a few drinks for about $55. Overall clean place with unique art up from a featured artist. Looking forward to going back and trying more dishes. Parking is plentiful.
If you are an Asian, trust me you don’t want to come to this place. If there were a negative star, I would put food as negative 1. The young lady server was great!Food: 1/5
