Techniques used on gourds are woodburning, weaving, beading, painting, melted wax,carving and coiling.
I participate in Art shows around the state and am in a few stores. Formally a painter with acrylics, oils and watercolors, someone gave me a gourd 25 yrs ago and asked me what I could do with it. Tho I grew up on a farm, I had never seen a gourd. Of course I made a birdhouse, Sold thousand a year to bird stores, greenhouses and at festivals.. Not much one can't do with gourd, learning new things everyday from very talented people.
