I brought in an 8 year old pair of cheap, but very comfortable, Timberland Earthkeepers to be resoled since the soles had worn almost completely smooth along with a pair of dress shoes that had some salt stains and were in need of a good cleaning and shine. The couple that own this place are amazing. I’m a big fan of How It’s Made type shows and I mentioned I had recently been watching a lot of leather working and shoe repair videos online and the husband/owner, who does most of the repairs, offered to bring me into his workspace to see how it all worked. It was really cool to see him operate and learn about the old machines he uses. The boots and shoes came out great and I couldn’t be happier. I’m sure I’ll get many more years of use from my old boots. I just wish I had some before photos. I’ll definitely be bringing in my Red Wings and other shoes here from now on.
Mike is a truly skilled craftsman. I brought in a pair of work boots to have the soles replaced. Mike was patient and knowledgeable when showing me my options. The turn around was quick and the result was perfection. The boots actually looked better than when I bought them. He even put a nice shine on them. Don't hesitate to bring in your boots, zippers, or anything repaired or replaced. I'm happy to see local businesses like this provide amazing work to the community they serve and live in.
The best of the best! The other day I ripped the side of my workboot. They got me in and repaired next day. The workmanship will undoubtedly last the rest of the life of this boot. Will return!
I am so grateful to Mike who not only helped me to make my custom shoes I made at the Colorado Shoe School wearable by stretching and lengthening them but also taught me about his work while I was there! I’m a Costume Design and Construction student and I could not be more grateful for Mike’s incredible kindness, swiftness, patience, and education! Not to mention I was there from around 5pm-6pm and for the entire time people were coming in all very happy with their work and the prices and surprised at the speed with which it was done. Go and get your shoes resoled! They probably need them and here Mike will do them with soul!
My snowshoe lost a rivet, causing the binding apparatus to be loose. The manufacturer would repair it if I paid for shipping plus the repair and waited 4 weeks. The retailer who sold it could not repair it, but recommended trying a shoe repair shop. I briefly tried repairing it myself before realizing I would probably end up doing more harm than good. I ended up taking it to Governor's Plaza Shoes & Services, and they had it repaired same day, within 5 min. Looks good as new.
I brought in a pair of snowboard boots to be mended and Mike made them better than new. He is a very knowledgeable craftsman and his work speaks for itself. I will definitely be back for any future repairs.
I gave the shop a call hoping to get a zipper repaired/replaced on a leather jacket. The owner, Mike, returned my call and asked me to bring it in. I visited the store the next day and Mike immediately recognized the zipper was not in need of replacement but needed a new slider. He had one in stock and repaired it in two minutes as I waited. Awesome experience, I will return.
This review is overdue. Mike quickly and elegantly figured out a solution to fixing the lace loops on my leather sneakers and saved them from the landfill. Very reasonable prices and he's a great guy, too! Definitely coming back for my other shoe repair needs.
