Our waitress Kelsi was so awesome. She was sweet and friendly. Jovi was very sweet also. I would definitely come back!! The food was very good. I would recommend you stop here sometime. They also have breakfast. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu with coloring and Crayons.
We stopped in for dessert and what a fantastic decision that was! The Nightmare was simply decadent and the carrot cake was amazing! Service was really good once we got seated which took a bit longer than it probably should have but everyone was friendly so it was all good. I can promise we’ll be back!
Loved this! We had to stop here for a family dinner Our host was so sweet and complimented me a bunch!! The quesadilla was so good! Thank you for the family friendly service! Tastes homemade like grandmas cooking Food: 5/5
The service at this location was quick, and considerate. We had Michelle as our server this AM. She was quite helpful and knowledgeable in assisting my wife, choose a gluten free meal. The food came out, and it was good! I had some apprehension art first, as the silver dollar pancakes came out and 'felt' a bit tough. But the whipped butter, and the real maple syrup, made them great! The scrambled eggs were perfect. It really tased like I made them myself. Maybe they have my recipe . . .
We went yesterday for a Bridal Shower..the food was delicious, their cake..top notch baking skills!! The servers were so friendly even with the delay in getting our forks haha and the atmosphere was great! 5 stars!Food: 5/5
We visited this restaurant for my father's 73rd Birthday. Timmy our waiter was really friendly and helpful. The food generally was really good. We stopped by for lunch, and Dad chose the clam chowder for starters which he stated was delicious and the lobster roll for main. Mum was a little disappointed with her chicken pot pie, saying it was a little bit tasteless, but ate it all anyway. I had the maple fried chicken was really nice. There are lots of things to choose from on the menu, so there should be something for everyone. There is also a fine selection of cakes to choose from, and the choc/peanut butter one was awesome. We were all really surprised when Timmy brough over some ice cream with a candle in it as a birthday treat a nice touch. Overall this place gave us a cozy atmosphere with very friendly service. I would recommend everyone to visit at least once. We are going back for breakfast later in the week.
Worst dining experience of my life. We 3 of us were in the restaurant for 3 hours. We watched a party of 8 who were seated after us different waitress leaving when we were only halfway through our meal, and they got appetizers. Multiple other tables that were seated after us also left before us, so it definitely wasn't a kitchen problem. After the terrible service, I at least had my eclair to look forward to. Wrong. It was in my fridge for one night, and when I got a few bites in, I noticed the mold. I will never go to this Governors again, and maybe not even the other ones after this experience.
Really good food, bakery and great coffee. Our waitress was so sweet and took good care of us. We needed a hot meal after camping in rainy Acadia NP and the Governor's Restaurant was comforting.Food: 5/5
It's consistent and inexpensive. The service is always quick, and the servers really excel at taking care of guests. The food is ok, it's your typical greasy spoon diner. I usually order the New York Style Reuben Sandwich. It always comes out hot. It just isn't really different from any other I've had, and to some people that's not a bad thing. Governor's Restaurant serves patrons quick, familiar fare at a low price point. The real draw is the baked goods. They make very good cakes, cookies, rolls, and pies. Kid-friendliness: They offer high chairs and a kids menu. The atmosphere is decorated with families with children mind. There was a model train that used to run the perimeter of the dining area, but apparently it's broken. Haven't seen it run for about two years. Was definitely something children used to like watching.
Great choice any time of day!! Whether you prefer home fries and delicious omelet or a serving of thin cut onion rings with a huge haddock sandwich. You won't be disappointed. And don't forget to grab some cookies, cake, or pie for later. There should no excuse for going home hungry. Parking: Plenty of parking spots surrounding the restaurant. If needed, there is parking from the nearby mall. Kid-friendliness: Wide variety of choices for the kids. From chicken tenders to Mac n cheese. Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs or curbs leading into the restaurant.
