This community page supports and celebrates the GPC service learning garden projects.
In January 2012, Georgia Perimeter College cleared a 9,000 square foot section of lawn on its Decatur campus to be transformed from grass facade into a viable food source. Since that time, GPC added an additional garden on its Newton campus, and the Decatur garden has flourished into a mini-farm that serves as an interdisciplinary learning space and produces food for its community partner, the United Methodist Children's Home. This page chronicles the progress of these gardens and their place in Atlanta's flourishing urban agriculture movement.
