A lovely unique bed and breakfast! Within walking distance to the lake and shops and restaurants. The owners are very attentive without being fussy. The breakfast is absolutely wonderful, but the shared deck and outdoor fireplace all stocked is just the best! Everything you could want in a rustic lodge with breakfast. We will definitely come back again!
My wife and I recently stayed for a couple nights at the Grafton lodge. We were very happy with the whole experience. The room we stayed in was comfortable, and clean. The hosts were nice and helpful, we will be returning for Holliday again ASAP ! Fellow travelers, the lake town does close a bit on the early side,, and some businesses are not open Mon to Sun. Thus we recommend doing some research on the area, and plan accordingly. Cheers to Rich and Kim for making our time fun and rememberal!!! Hope to see you both again soon. Rooms: WI-Fi provided, in rooms, cell service spotty at best And that is for the whole lake lure area, also our GPS went jumpy a couple times getting there. We just stayed the course and everything was fine. Walkability: Easy drive or walk to the little town, next time we will bike or walk, parking can be tough. There is a pay to park lot that is only $5.00 per day as of writing. Not sure if this fluctuates with season or not . Food & drinks: Great micro brew pub with outdoor area to sit and relax, owner and bartender were friendly and welcoming, and the beverages were delicious!
The room is perfect, you can't hear your neighbors. Water temperature in the shower is superb . There a small gardens throughout thr property that you can sit and relax in as well as it is located 7 mins from the very bustling chimney village and closer to the lake lure beach. The owners are knowledgeable and kind and help provide directions as well as seriously helpful tips especially if you go exploring and hiking. The breakfast is phenomenal. The chef one of the oweners used to have his own restaurants and now can spoil travelers with his delicious food. I personally have always hated French toast by oh my goodness, I tried his French toast here and honestly could have eaten more. The water is delicious . Tastes much fresher than anything I've drank from the kitchen sink or refrigerator and you can drink the water from your sink here, it's that good and pure tasting. 10/10 location, management, atmosphere, breakfast, and all-around relaxing and refreshing location. Food & drinks: Breakfast is delicious and included in the stay as well as coffee, oj & tea
We were here for my cousin’s wedding. What a place! So scenic, pristine, cozy. The bridal cottage was just perfect. The bride room was beautiful. The kitchen was fully equipped with all the cutlery. We loved the experience, we enjoyed the wedding and stay. The hosts were wonderful people, the breakfast was sumptuous, delicious, finger licking delectable. We even celebrated 4th of July! Ingles is close to get all your groceries. Just a word of warning, internet is non existent here and there’s WiFi inside the cottage but it’s weak too.
Rich and Kim are wonderfully hosts! We would highly recommend staying here. We look forward to our next visit. Did I mention how super clean the pet friendly room was? Rooms: Big comfy bed! Nice size bathroom. Super clean pet friendly room! Nearby activities: They offer discount tickets to local attractions. Walkability: Easy walk to the lake. Food & drinks: Best breakfast ever!
My amazing experience started before I even arrived. I booked this place on Booking.com and apparently was overcharged. I received a text message from Kimberly immediately letting me know this and that she was working to fix it. I would’ve never known! As it came closer to our arrival date she touched base with me to make sure everything was perfect before arrival. I have never stayed at a bed-and-breakfast before so I was very excited. When we pulled up it had such charm. A cute little breakfast room that was available until 8 PM each night in case we wanted any coffee or tea or homemade cookies! The room was much larger than I expected so that was a nice surprise. The bed was extremely comfortable as well. The details in the room did not go unnoticed such as tissue by the bedside, a nightlight in the bathroom, etc… The simple things that you don’t think about but they do. The breakfasts were amazing and such a cool experience. The property was serene and offered enough to where I could have stayed there the entire time and been perfectly happy. Me and my children absolutely loved this place and I plan to go back. If I could give it more than five stars I would!
We absolutely loved our stay here and them having pet friendly rooms was such a plus. The pet fee is cheaper than most places charge so that was a good bonus. Our room was so spacious and clean, the property was quiet, cozy, well maintained and even included board games in their covered seating area. The breakfast room was open until 8pm; perfect for an afternoon cup of coffee, water, ice or even a homemade cookie. The homemade breakfast everyday was absolutely delicious! The beach and some restaurants were only a 10 minute walk down a private street which made for a lovely sunset walk. Chimney Rock was only a 5-7 minute drive.
Richard & Kim are kind and attentive, we had so much fun getting to know them and the other guest a bit. The cottage where we stayed is large and clean included a full and well equipped kitchen where my wife and I made dinner each night. We highly recommend it as, even though it’s a bit more expensive than the other rooms you can save in the long run vs eating out each meal. The breakfast each day were unique and far better than anything we would ever make for ourselves. I also enjoyed the touch of the blues music playing in the background as we ate and Kim being conversational and constantly attentive to our needs through each meal. We will certainly be back and recommend others as well. Thanks y’all!
My girlfriend and I stayed here a couple weeks ago, this was our first Bed & Breakfast experience, it was amazing! The owners were very nice and provided great hospitality! They prepared an amazing breakfast for us in the morning, they also left access for us to the kitchen for the day until 8:30pm. There was an outdoor lounge area to smoke cigars and enjoy a nice fore from the outdoor wood burning fireplace, the bed was amazingly comfortable, and the room was super clean! I highly recommend this place and want to come back again!
We stayed at Grafton Lodge for Valentine's weekend 2022. Kim and her husband, Richard, are such a delight! They truly are working and living in their passion and it shows. We highly recommend a stay at Grafton Lodge. Pet friendly, great location, well connected to recommend places throughout town. The bed is amazingly comfortable!! Food is handmade every morning and delicious. We had a great time eating and talking with the other guests too. We'll be back for sure!
