In a private room the party ambiance was great, but acoustics in the room were less than ideal, with noise levels a regular cacophony as conversations at the numerous tables made for sometimes difficult, taxing persoal dialogue, even with those right next to one another. Fabric on walls or acoustic panels on the hard surfaces, or in corners should be able to address that. Food was quite good, and the historic building are often cited as standout elements drawing guests for the continental fare. Great views from the tables, and decor that really brings the old railway station alive.
My wife and I have been here numerous times. We just recently had an anniversary and obviously had to celebrate it at probably the most beautiful and relaxing restaurant in all of Pittsburgh. Food is always 5/5 and service is impeccable. Very historic building in itself and don’t mind spending a lot of money here. Worth every single cent!!! We will be repeat customers for a very long time! Parking: Many parking options but always spend the extra for valet to get the full 4 star restaurant experience.
An historic restaurant. The restaurant is iconic but a little old. I like how the story of the restaurant is well maintained while keeping the place still clean. The restaurant is extremely spacious and we got the table next to the riverside view. The food was good. I would recommend the jumbo shrimp pasta
This meal and service will make you yearn for rail travel when it was something you could enjoy. This restaurant is magnificent and the food and service are commensurate with the surroundings. I want to thank Neil for the wonderful service that he gave us. The only downside really was the maitre d was kind of fussy and decidedly not very friendly. But once we got it past that the rest of the meal and experience was simply excellent. We both had the New York strips which were excellent size and had a delicious rub. Definitely on the pricey side but well worth it for the experience.
I've always loved this place. From smells and beer in college to fine dining now. Always consistent and well attended. Good service. Recently met friends from out of town here, very nice.Food: 5/5
Four of us went to dinner, this place has great architectural features being an old train station, and awesome views of the Pittsburgh skyline from just South of town. Started with the ICEBERG WEDGE, and found it a simple and flavorful representation. Main course was the ULTIMATE SEAFOOD MIXED TRIO. Portions were just right for being able to enjoy the meal without feeling like you overate when you were done. Everything was tasty and no surprise flavors.
I cannot wait to come back. I was so happy to find this restaurant open at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. I had amazing service, an amazing venue and the food was so great. It’s hard to explain and iMessage you just need to experience it.
Everything was wonderful from start to finish. The food was amazing and staff was very nice and accommodating. The atmosphere is so nice especially with all of the history behind it.Food: 5/5
A true Pittsburgh classic with charm and history! Wonderful service, excellent food and a strong wine selection. The platform is stunningly beautiful, well preserved and comfortable. Known for its timeless Sunday brunch, Saturday afternoons are a sweet spot!
This is a fantastic place to go if you're looking for something extra special for a date night or special family occasion. Is this place expensive? Yes, but they work for that money. The food is delicious and extravagant. If I tried to make something like this at home I'm sure it would take hours. The menu is mostly seafood and stake. However there is also an excellent duck on the menu which I highly recommend. Their drinks are just as good as their food. They have a unique drink menu. The service is kind and responsive but not in your face all the time. Also, the view of the city and the river is great. The only critique I have for them is that they're located at the end of a strip of a bunch of restaurants and they're the furthest from the garage. It's not that far, so if it's a nice day it's not a big deal. However if it's cold outside or raining definitely bring a good coat or umbrella. I suppose that's less of a criticism and more a thing to know before you go. This place was great. 10/10!
