This is an awesome railroad. Very nice staff/crew and excellent looking locomotives. People that complain about the traffic in Kzoo don't understand how railroads work. Kalamazoo is GDLKs yard location and where many businesses are located. It's not the railroads fault if traffic is blocked, they are just doing their job. Although the company is just over 10 years old, the railroad has been there for a long time. I think the GDLK does an excellent job at what they do. If traffic is a problem, find other roads.
Crew works efficiently during switching operations and is considerate to unblock crossings for cars every 5 or 10 minutes, especially when working in Wayland. The railroad operates clean equipment and maintains a safe operation. Finally, the railroad is considerate to rail fans who use common sense and remain clear of the crossings.
Constantly block crossings in downtown Kalamazoo. This operation needs to be reorganized so that trains move from terminals without the backup moves. Norfolk Southern should take control of the operation and begin moving the freight safely and efficiently again.
This is the company responsible for the trains that basically park in downtown Kalamazoo. Always interesting graffiti on the cars though.
