The Grand Geneva Resort & Spa is a beautiful establishment. We stayed overnight for a wedding reception. Everything was great. Our room was amazing with a fantastic view from the balcony. The food was delicious. The steak was done perfectly and so tender. The staff was incredible, always helpful and smiling. The next morning we were up early walking and searching for a cup of coffee. There is a coffee maker in the room but that's not my thing. Nothing was open yet but one of the staff in the lobby offered to check the kitchen for us. They didn't have any ready either but it was the thought that counts. We waited 30 minutes for the Starbucks shop to open. We had a great experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone.
An amazing place to chill, relax and recharge yourself. The location is very beautiful, rooms are modern and very comfy and have everything you need for a good stay. The service is great, you feel how they care and want to make your stay really pleasant. The only minus but it was a minus for us most restaurants work until 10pm, I believe one works until 11 pm. We spent about 30 min to realize that there is no place open, so we can't eat there... and we had to go and eat outside the Resort. But anyway, we enjoyed our stay there and for sure will come again!
So the only complaint is there was no mini table in the room, but tbh we grabbed the small table from the patio and made it work. The rooms were so amazing, the bar needs some work on service, but as a whole this resort did amazing! They had a scavenger hunt you can do so my wife and I had a blast! Their location is perfect as everything is so close! Definitely try their Italian restaurant you will not be disappointed! Loved it!
My wife and I spent the past weekend at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. When we turned off highway, we drove along a scenic winding road for almost four minutes before we reached the building. I walked into the spacious lobby to check in and greeted with an authentic antler chandelier. I am a retired service member, and they offered a military discount, making the room very affordable. Our room was great and had everything we needed. We went there for the fantastic fireworks show and it did not disappoint. As I drove away from the resort, my wife and I agreed we must come back and stay longer in order to take advantage of more of the amenities offered.
What a great mini getaway from Chicago. Great spa service and absolutely amazing golf courses. They really make you feel like you are special here. I was very impressed with the new updated room and the great view we had of the course. Very happy with coming here.Rooms: 5/5
Stayed for a weekend just to get away with the wife. The room was fine. The property is well-maintained and vast. The beds were comfortable. The shower was great. The staff experience was above average. Enjoyed the outdoor pool area with drinks served to your chair Elijah was a great server. We didn't have time to use the spa and gym facility but we toured it and it was on par with the size and options you'd have at a YMCA. The Chophouse restaurant was phenomenal. You get what you pay for. The people and families that stay here are the kind of people you want to be around on vacation. The property is close to downtown while being tucked into it's own little world. We will definitely come back and take in more of the experience next summer.
Had dinner at the grand Geneva resort. Customer services was fantastic! What i wanted to focus is their awesome fire work on every Sunday in the summer! If you stayed in the resort and happens to face the right side you get to enjoy their firework on on your balcony If you dined at one of their restaurant you can enjoy the fireworks inside by the windows. They also has a patio with fireplace while you can enjoy drinks by their bar They also offere chairs, all right in front of the fireworks... The fireworks start at 9am and it last 13min! Nearby activities: Firework on Sunday in the summmer Food & drinks: Offers several restaurant and bar
Website is a bit deceiving. Photos may show a lakeside room with a balcony, but there is also a level of rooms lakeside on ground level. This is two floors below lobby or ground level. Think walk out basement. No balcony. No privacy. Open your sliding glass doors and you are even with the dirt on which there are a few paving stones and a couple chairs. A low shrub separates you from your neighbor. Nothing separates you from a view of the lower pool wall, utility garage and anyone walking down the path. I booked and paid for a lakeside room imagining coffee on my balcony with a lovely lake view. I got the pleasure of looking at a utility vehicle through partially opened curtains. There is little privacy at ground level and anyone walking past or working can see directly into the room. In addition there is the obvious security issue. This room seems to work well with dog owners who can easily take their dogs out. And poor dog owners are charged an extra $65 for this substandard room. When asking for a room change was told that none were available. The outdoor pool was heated, the property is well maintained and staff was friendly.
DO NOT stay here if you're allergic to mold and fungi. During their "remodel" multiple areas of the Main Lodge had mold plauging the walls underneath the wallpaper. They definitely didn't take their time to fix the mold properly. From past complaints from other guests and personally seeing what lies beneath the wallpaper, I'd avoid this place like the plague. It's unfortunate that such a beautiful resort has fallen into disrepair and neglected by it's current owners. The spa isn't any better, it needs a complete overhaul. Don't expect a "Four Diamond" resort like It may have been in the past. This place is being run into the ground. Side note: The employees are fantastic and helpful people, most of them that work here and get paid horrible wages and most of them aren't cared for by their upper management, do cut them some slack.
BED BUG INFESTATION. Dawn the front desk manager could work on her personality and hospitality. First night of a 3 night stay a bed bug came crawling across the bed. What an inconvenience, we were there to enjoy a relaxing 3 night get away. Instead we were moving rooms at midnight and dealing with a bed bug incident. Barely slept, doors slamming and banging plus the bed bug was on my mind. Walls are very thin could hear regular talking in the room next to us. The front desks remedy for the bed bug was a refund for one night stay, an upgraded room for last 2 nights and that an exterminator would be out in the morning.Would not recommend sleeping here. Do better Grand Geneva staff and don't forget you are being paid to provide a service and the guests are paying for that service. The location and property is great on a positive note.
