Lovely park, nice place to walk along the water and look at all the boats on the river. Very chill and laid back with beautiful sunsets. Very family friendly too. There is also a camping ground in the beach park too. Restrooms: Restrooms available to the public close to the beach Grand Haven Beach Park
Beautiful day at the Coast Guard Festival!
Very nice park for walking along the Grand River, watching boats coming and going to Lake Michigan, watching people too. Has benches along the way and even some occasional shade. Good transition from state park beach/campground to city river front. Was there for the annual Coast Guard celebration which was fantastic. Would give it a 5 if it had a restroom nearby. Saw a few porta-potties that looked like they were added for the event but not sure about that.
nicest little park in grand haven great place to fish and enjoy the bay
A nice little park. It was a cold and windy day when we stopped by for a walk, but you can tell it is a well-kept park. Lots of parking, beach access, and a playground. There is also access to the pier to see the light house.
Spend the day having a great time at Escanaba Park and nearby attractions. Read up on the coast guard history. Enjoy pronto pups, ice cream, or the local Butchs Beach Burritos. I was lucky when I pulled up as a car was leaving, or I would have had to park across the street or down near the beach as there are only 10 parking spots. Enjoy a mile walk along the waters edge to the red lighthouse and relax at the beautiful and sandy beach. I recommend walking the dune behind Butchs and setting up a hammock to see a great view. You can walk further into the woods along the right side and climb another dune to have full vision of the river, escanaba park, and view the farther away dunes at Hoffman state park. Great family adventure or you can take your date for a full day of fun!
This is a nice little park along the channel. There is a memorial tribute to the Coast Guard cutter Escanaba that was based in Grand Haven and sunk in WWII. We came during the Coast Guard festival, and this is also the place where Coast Guard ships are docked for people to tour.
Lovely memorial to the Coast Guard cutter Escanaba and her crew. Beautiful setting along the Grand River channel.
It was SO DOPE seeing a giant boat along the channel.
Beautiful park right on the Grand River. Some of Grand Haven's interesting history is revealed on the signs here.
