Co-owners Dr. Lauren Knobel and Dr. Eleanor Dunn have been practicing veterinary medicine since the early 1980's. After more than twenty years in the field, they teamed up to open the Grand Lake Veterinary Hospital in 2013!

They quickly realized our clients needed better access to the specialty products and prescription foods prescribed to care for their beloved pets, and came up with the perfect solution. With our neighborhood pet owners in mind, Dr. Dunn and Dr. Knobel were able to expand just two years later by opening Grand Lake All About Pets right next door to the hospital.

Everything in our one-of-a-kind pet store has been carefully curated by Dr. Dunn, Dr. Knobel, and the combined Grand Lake team. From specialized and veterinary exclusive diets to supplements, apparel, and hand-made local goods -- our entire selection has been hand-selected for superior quality, and is backed by decades of veterinary experience.

My dog actually gets excited to see the vet techs here! That's how good they and the whole staff are. Grand Lake Vet has always made me feel like they care and will not rest till they have taken care of all my dogs issues and my concerns and there have been a considerable amount in the past 4 years. Barbie and I highly suggest them.
It was a smooth appointment. Well organized prior with lots of communication to help us prepare for our first appointment at this Veterniary hospital. We did not wait long and Dr. P came in and spent considerable time talking about our cat and options for feeding, medication, shots and all issues. It is much better than the feedback I get going Kaiser for myself. Highly recommend.
I've been to several vet clinics over the last 2 years, in search of a place where my dog and I can get good care and call "home." Well, I think I've found it @ The Grand Lake Vet Hospital. The front desk was friendly, the vet tech was very helpful, and Dr. Partin was wonderful! She took her time examining my dog and answering all my various questions. Not only was she very detail-oriented, but she seemed like she just cared! Thank you Dr. P for your great service!
Excellent and empathetic staff, nurses and doctors. Good communication. Large calm waiting area. Great COVID precautions. Always feel totally confident taking my old lady kitty here!
This is the best. Great staff Good equipment ultrasound, digital xray etc . This really is the best regular vet. . I am editing one year after leaving this review. That was a misnomer to say this is a regular vet This is by far the best collection of vets including the vet support office team and vet techs I've ever known and I have worked with animals probably for about 50 years I have met individually good vet techs as well as good vets but under one roof to have such a stellar group of people I have not seen And that's including specialists etc I trust these vets with the most delicate and fragile old dogs of our population or cats etc they know their stuff I know they get the best care when I take them there. Also if they feel that your animal needs to see a specialist they will let you know .
This was a great visit. We have a large tough shepherd mix that normally won't stand for shots or blood draws, nor to be examined. they had me premedicate him with 3 meds, and it was perfect. got the muzzle on easily, and he was chill. the doctor and staff were great... they got the blood test, gave him his annual shots and oral vaccination, and the doc was even able to examine our beast. I am so grateful. also, the price for everything was quite fair, I feel.
I brought my pup here for her first check-up and the staff here was helpful and considerate. Ensuring that her vet appointment would be a pleasant one, they offered a few solutions so that we would have an easier return visit.
This is without a doubt the best veterinary care our cats and related humans have ever experienced! Thank you Dr. McDonald and all of your staff! Sage was wonderful as well.
It's been a little over a week since I've started coming here and I'm so glad I made the switch. I feel supported, respected, and trust that my two cats are in good hands while they're here.
Dr MacDonald and the rest of the staff here are amazing. She has been my favorite vet for our cats and dog for about 12 years. Gives honest opinions, doesn't recommend expensive treatments first, just a very pragmatic approach to what needs to be done right now. She has never made me feel rushed, either with a critical cat emergency or a regular visit. I appreciate her down-to-earth style. Last week I brought in our elderly Rottweiler who was having a sudden change in mobility and could barely walk. She triaged him in the welcoming area, without a second thought. And the office staff provided reassurance that him blocking the reception desk wasn't an issue, even though it was! I can't recommend this women-owned business enough - they put the animals first, while taking the time to provide options to the owners. And although I prefer Dr MacDonald, ALL the other vets we have seen here have had the same patient, caring and kind attitudes. Thank you!
