I have been going here for years and have had nothing but the best experience until this year. I dropped my tax documents off like I do every year and received a call that they were finished. When I went to go and pick them up and pay for them there was a significant difference in the fee. I normally would pay $100 and this time the fee was $185. I am rational and understand fees go up but $85 was a pretty big difference. I then proceeded to ask the preparer why there was such a difference in the fee and he said you had a lot of schedule D's. I asked was there more than what I have had in the past? He said "no" and then he stated that "I do not negotiate my fees". I was not trying to negotiate I was simply wanting clarification on the difference in charges to previous years. He then said "you can take your taxes to someone else" in a loud tone and annoyed manner. He said this twice to me. So I decided to do so. There is a little back story here. Last year he failed to claim my daughter as a dependent on my taxes and had to ammend them. I still have not received this money because of that a year and a half later. I paid him his fee last year and understood people make mistakes. But to be treated this way for a service that is being provided is NO service that I think anyone should have to experience. I NEVER write reviews but this encounter really rubbed my the wrong way considering the mistake made last year and the nasty encounter I had this time. There are plenty of other tax preparers to go to that are willing to treat you with class. Please consider taking your taxes to someone else so you do not have to experience the same service I had to.
I’d rate them with zero stars if that was an option. Asking for ridiculous documentation yet a legal document they won’t accept. Makes zero sense and then was incredibly rude when picking up my tax information. Zero stars for this man.
