Nutrition Services provides GCISD students with the BEST school meals!
GCISD Nutrition Services is a self-supported department within our district. We're made of over 100 dedicated employees who have worked in all areas of school food service and management. From our Director to our cafeteria employees, providing healthy and delicious school meals is what we do BEST. GCISD students are served a wide variety of meals that are nutritionally sound, as well as delicious. Meals are analyzed by a full-time Registered Dietitian for nutritional content and meet the RDA for each age/grade level. Student/parent input is utilized annually and menu adjustments are often made. Healthy snack choices are provided and nutrition education classes are part of the GCISD curriculum. Healthy eating habits are formed early in life and can provide a strong foundation for the eating habits we adopt as adults. Students at GCISD are encouraged to make daily food choices that emphasize fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fat-free milk and lean sources of protein.

The Nutrition Services Department at GCISD is committed to providing a nutritious meal to every student. By providing children of our community with quality food and service, we are valuable partners in education. Our efforts as professionals in child nutrition will further the growth and success of our students, staff and community.
