Pasture based farm
Owners Justice and Anita believe that pasture and its intensive management is key to the health of their farm and animals. The healthy pasture lifestyle for the animals "breaks disease cycles, eliminates toxic concentrations of manure, self-fertilizes and builds soil, minimizes odors, and feeds the animals. Their feed is custom-made in Culver with regionally-sourced ingredients (meaning no soy, corn or mixed screenings) which complement the pasture. Mineral supplements are OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute) approved.
No GMOs are used on the farm and all processed items use celery powder instead of sodium nitrite!
Spice mixes used are free of MSG and other unnecessary ingredients. Pigs are milk fed and pasture-raised and all poultry is processed on the farm in the first licensed poultry slaughterhouse east of the Cascades in the state of Oregon.
"The Great American Egg is a farm that aims to provide good food to local folks. We raise chickens for eggs, broilers for meat, grain for feed, and most importantly - two sprouting girls!"
