The Great Falls Fire Department provides fire services to the Town of Great Falls and surrounding areas. We are a combination Paid/Volunteer Dept.
The Great Falls Fire Department has been a member of the South Carolina Firemen's Association since 1969 when the department was housed in a two-bay building that is now the Sanitation Department. The little department soon outgrew its confines - literally, one of our trucks was too long for the bays! - and moved into a renovated car dealership shortly after it closed. It's still there today, at 506-A Chester Ave. The Fire Department currently shares its building with Chester County EMS unit 3, one of four EMS units in the county.
The Great Falls Fire Department is currently composed of both paid and volunteer fire fighters, as well as a volunteer support staff. The support staff supplies admin, IT, and public information assistance to the department.
Whether or not you're interested in fire fighting, there is truly a place for anyone who wants to serve the department and their community. If you would like to volunteer with us, we would love for your to join our volunteer family. Please visit the volunteer page of our website to learn how you, too, can bring your time and talents to the department and to the citizens of Great Falls, SC.
