Once upon a time, this use to be a fun, vibrant and diverse mall, full of life and energy. This was the cool place where I would hang out with my friends during my school years in Liverpool. Now those days of Glory are gone. It’s no longer the place it use to be. :
This was the best experience of my life. The mall was so, so crowded. I could barely walk! Many fun places to go to, including a trampoline park, indoor water park, and finally, an indoor amusement park! Those were only 3 of the many fun things to do. There were lots of stores, including Gucci, Apple, Louis Vuitton, and more! I probably spent like a million dollars being at this mall!!! Food court? Wonderful! Many options to choose from! I ate like there was no tomorrow. So good! Definitely returning.
In the golden age of malls, this was a staple. The years have not been kind to malls and unfortunately this one did not survive. It is a mere shadow of a vibrant shopping center, where during the holidays it was tough to find a parking spot. I hope future generations learn to enjoy malls as much as we did in the 70s and 80s.
It's not too bad. There's an arcade in the food court but no more restaurants. It's kind of disappointing. There's still a decent selection of stores but it's not like it used to be.
Online shopping doesn't kill malls. Having a mall in a poor city kills malls. Palisades mall vs Destiny USA figure out which of the two is making money. I don't see any Simon Malls on Long Island crying about stores closing and falling apart.
Great Northern Mall! What an awesome experience! After reading the reviews, we traveled from far to see it with our own eyes! It was beyond expectation! A big real ghost shopping mall!! Empty parking lot, empty mall, empty shops, empty food court. You need to see it to believe it! It is an attraction! Depends on how many photos and role plays you want to play in, you should count a good 1-hour visit! Now I am really looking forward to get an answer back from the grumpy owner and then my experience will be complete.
This place was my childhood mall! Even though it is pretty dead it is still fun walking through for me! I personally love this place and never will stop
Came all the way from buffalo ny, to check out Syracuse NY for the weekend. Enjoyed my stay at a hotel, and was in the clay ny area, so decided to check out the mall. It had a old navy, a bath and body works, a shoe store, a Hallmark store, a video game arcade and a few other stores. I enjoyed the sale at bath and body works, $5.50 body care products!!! And my husband and I enjoyed the small arcade inside, we won 2 teddy bears! Sadly there wasn't much else to do, but we did enjoy the walk inside as it was cold outside. : Wish malls could make a come back!!! I love malls, and all the stores, hopefully malls can make a 2nd come back! Worth a stop, to play a couple video games,& for a couple small sales.
Owner doesn't repair roads or anything. Grounds are not maintained. So many good stores left because owner fails to keep mall maintained. HVAC issues the list goes on. Just sell and let someone who cares bring it back to life.
Sad that the owners didn't put any money into fixing this up to be able to attract stores and people to want to be there. Especially since it has potential to be really nice and a good option other than destiny which is riddled with crime issues
