Everyone is extremely friendly they do everything they can to make your visit fast and very courteous definitely a good place to do your banking
I worked with Shannon specifically and she is awesome. She helped me out with my auto loan and was able to get me approved when no one else could! She went above and beyond to make sure I was able to purchase my car and I am so thankful that she was able to help me. Thank you so much Shannon at Great River Federal Credit Union! You are the best!
I have loved working with this bank for the last 3 years! I got an auto loan through them and then shortly later moved out of the area. Banking long distance has been a breeze, and any time I call in with a question everyone I talk to is extremely friendly! Sometimes I feel insecure at banks, because I'm not very good with money. But here I feel very comfortable here!
This is a good bank if you do not open a credit card. The actual tellers are nice the bank is nice, however that doesn’t undermine the fact that a bank should secure your funds especially when it comes to your savings. Recently due to the new change in their online banking policy I have lost hundreds in mistakes over my credit card. And a change in their online banking is not an excuse! Then they act like it’s not a big deal like screwing up your cheeseburger. No this is hundreds of dollars that is being wasted because they can’t do anything about the problems you have. It’s been weeks since having mine resolved I would not recommend using this bank. I opened my account for convenience of location and it has been nothing but a pain. If you’d like to come into the bank everyday then this is the bank for you. If you are a busy citizen hoping to open a bank account that secures your savings and makes sure that you will not lose your money and have to come in countless times. Then I would strongly recommend you steer clear of this place.
Update: I'm in the process of closing my accounts. In the age of mobile technology and ease of access - GRFCU is not on par with other financial institutions. If you're looking for a new bank or credit union I recommend going somewhere else. I've banked here for 15 years and have loved everything about Great River Federal Credit Union. I haven't been local to the St. Cloud area for about six years now and have never considered changing banks... Until recently. The core system upgrade that has been going on for the last few days has been the most frustrating thing I've ever experienced with this bank. Initially there was very little information to members about what exactly was happening and how long the process would take. Then after being told my automatic payments and transfers would not be affected the system failed to make a transfer, online banking says it can't find my account, and I can't even check my account history to see if the transfer actually failed. The website claims things will be a little strange and I should check my E-statements. The E-statement feature doesn't work I've tried three different browsers with no success. Seriously looking at refinancing my auto loans with a different institution and closing my accounts with Great River Federal. I spoke with a customer service representative who said he would call me back on 2/4 to confirm if my transfers went through. Update 2/4: customer service called back and stated that my transfers did not go through but that they would back date my payment to the first to adjust for interest gained. That was nice to hear. Additionally I'm either experiencing more problems with the new system than everyone else or I'm just overly vocal when my banking isn't working as intended. Customer service to call back on 2/7. Update 2/10: I was never contacted again by GRFCU customer service. I attempted to set up my automatic transfers again and they all have an error "Options used in this transfer are no longer available." I don't want to spend anymore of my time dealing with a broken banking system. This transition was very poorly executed by GRFCU.
I stopped in to help my son open a bank account, they did not have time to see us. Then I pre-scheduled apt to see them. We came in and they completely forgot about our apt time and I had verified the time with them prior to coming in. We waited and waited and then eventually ended up leaving. They said we could schedule another apt if we wanted. We will not return. 2x coming in and if they do not have time to see us then it doesn't make sense to give them a 3rd chance.
Been with them for nearly 15 years and I'd say in the last 5 years things have become less local friendly credit union and more pushing you to open a credit card or take out a loan and now they have all these new rules that they never used to have. Once my car is paid off through them im closing my accounts.
When I purchased a 2016 Chevy Impala from a dealership in Saint Cloud, GRFCU approved me and I had nothing except inquires on my credit report. They did have an expected interest rate for a first time buyer and I was ok with that. I did not have a good experience with the actual dealership and the whole time through it, GRFCU was there to be of any assistance. So a few months after getting the Impala I wanted nothing to do with the dealership so I wanted to trade it in. Lisa was the teller who helped me and she was SUPER sweet the whole time! She got me approved for up to $16,000 and my credit didn't look too great. She laid out everything for me and really showed me all the plans and everything. She worked tirelessly and I greatly appreciate it! I intend to get all of my future auto loans and any other loans I may need through GRFCU. So now I have a car I love from a dealership that I love, financed with a credit union I love. Highly recommend this credit union to any first time buyers and anyone who is looking for an amazing credit union that really works for you!
Poor customer service. Not willing to accommodate customer who is hospitalized.
Best bank in the St. Cloud area. Polite, convient, personable. Always friendly , helpful, smiling and happy to help you. A+++
