Water park is great and very clean, temperature was perfect and we ended up spending most of our time here. We really liked the hotel room and my daughter enjoyed the wolf den. I am giving 4 stars because I feel like the wolf pass and restaurants are money traps. They say you get all these different things with it and save so much money but when you go to redeem your item, there are always upgrades so be prepared to spend much more than just what the wolf pass is…also food and drinks were way over priced and below average. We had 3 breakfast sandwiches and 3 drinks from their Dunkin’ donuts and it was so old and bad that I could only take a couple bites. It cost $30! Then my husband got a pizza and 3 drinks from their pizza place and that was $30 for a below average pizza. My husband said they never set off his buzzer so he waited for like 30 min and noticed people that had ordered after him were getting their food. When he went up to ask, he was ignored then saw that his pizza was just sitting in the heater. They never notified him that the food was ready. So not very good service in that department. I would recommend eating at other nearby restaurants. Otherwise we enjoyed our room, the water park and the kids dance party and yoga. The other stuff was just ways to get your money. So be aware and stick to the water park.
This place is AMAZING! A fantastic family getaway, especially for kids! The staff is so friendly, I felt like I was on a cruise. I think it’s impossible to have anything other than a GREAT TIME! The water park is top notch, and our nieces and nephews ranging from 2-13 years old LOVED it! There are so many other family/kid activities, it feels like Disney World The hotel room was more than we expected. All in all I would highly recommend visiting for a family vacation. Rooms: We stayed in adjoining rooms, which worked really well! Especially when we ordered pizza, etc! We were impressed with the room size, cleanliness and quality of our room. Nearby activities: Plenty of shopping, restaurants and conveniences nearby. We did a little shopping and dining within minutes of the hotel resort. Noteworthy details: Extremely kid and family friendly! There are enough fun activities to keep the whole family entertained all weekend.
We had a great time, but we were not impressed with the accommodations. It used to be so much better. I don’t know if there’s new management or what but it isn’t what it used to be. The staff was not friendly at all. And after we got our food, we waited 15 more minutes for drinks that were never presented so we ended up just walking away without them. Mini golf was fun but the course isn’t maintained so there was lots of debris to play over/around. The room was clean, but the carpet needed some repairs. Overall it was not worth the price and we will stay somewhere else the next time we are in the Traverse City area.
The property was very well taken care of generally. It was not very crowded at all which made it probably doubly satisfying when we went during peak season. The promotional rate for the loft room was very reasonable allowing for the expensive amenities and food options to also be within reach with extra kids in tow. We had a view overlooking West Grand Traverse Bay in the distance so morning coffee on the balcony was enjoyable. The classic lodge theme is most fitting here. Great entertainment and food adjacent and not far otherwise. This is one of my favorite stays in recent memory for sure. Rooms: Many options from basic to basically an apartment. Nearby activities: Boating, beaches, art and culture, hiking, biking, golf, wineries, sailing, and more. There's an IMAX and a mall next door and a Meijer superstore at the bottom of the drive basically. Turning left out of the property is a pain frequently. Safety: There are frequent patrols and checks on people entering the property. The area appeared and feels very safe generally. Walkability: There is plenty within walking distance, but the downtown area would be an intermediate bike ride. Food & drinks: On-site options were abundant and ranged from reasonable to cmon man. The bar and restaurant we had were solid with good service. Also, door dash is fast and has a lot of options. We had Qdoba for keto options several times and it only took about 15 minutes from order to delivery. So there is a vast array of food available with no travel required. Food trucks, pharmacy, all that stuff. Noteworthy details: This is a place where people are going to spend time and money and they are generally very happy in demeanor. It is kind of infectious, particularly in light of the incredibly beautiful and bountiful location of the property.
Ok first starting off… this is a fun little water park to take your children to and stay the night at. There are lots of lifeguards to be sure of your safety. There isn’t much to do at the water park, you can go down the slides a few times or go on that big structure or hang out in the water but after a while it gets boring. The slides are just real quick and have small turns to them. The lazy river is so shallow it’s just a big circle. They just leave the tubes in the river and the lifeguards do nothing about it. It’s only geared for your children and nothing for the adults to do. The food service is so unacceptable. You have to use these kiosks which don’t even have all the options for your food on them and they don’t give you a receipt. The food is way overpriced. They give you a big overload on French fries and just 3 chicken strips with that meal. People go up and dig in the food. The food wasn’t even that good. Way too salty. The Dr Pepper just tasted like water. My family member even got sick to their stomach after drinking it. They were all out of ice in their drinking fountains and didn’t even bother to fill it. The arcade is way too expensive. You can buy a certain amount of credits for an overpriced amount of money and then they are all gone by just one game. Everything in their gift shops are overpriced. Great wolf lodge is good for the children but not for the parents. I do not recommend going here.
First time here for one night & two half days. Impressive but the website seemed to make it more grand than it was They have a lot to offer that I have never seen before. Never been to a resort so I have nothing to base it off of except there is always room for improvement. Great staff. The older gentleman always in the lobby in the morning is a great man, I hope the resort appreciates that gentleman. Lots of activities offered but vague descriptions or location instructions. Did not care for the front desk saying the only help for details on their resort was an app that was not as descriptive as it should be. We all enjoyed our stay. Not sure if we would do it again. Highly impressed with the amount of lifeguards for the mass amount of children, way more kids than adults watching them. Noticed kids lost their parents & staff seem to handle it well. Hope you enjoy the pictures. I would recommend this as a water park resort. Noteworthy details: Love the entire MagiQuest design. Wish there were interactive characters like Wiley Cyote.
Honestly, the service wasn't great. The pizza is mediocre and overpriced, and we got into our room super late with a bunch of things not functioning properly in it. However, the overall experience that our kids had is what made me give it the 4 stars. It's a whimsical magical place that has plenty of things to do with the resort and the water park was amazing. We really loved the magic quest too. Our kids can't stop talking about their experiences there.
Our children had a phenomenal time here. I would recommend getting things the front desk says in writing, as far as pricing goes for certain activities. We were told one thing when it wasn't true or was different. Bathroom had a septic smell the 2nd day and it took a little while for service to respond but it was eventually fixed. A bit pricey for the arcade. There is a much better one in downtown Traverse City. Overall the vacation was for the kids and the kids had a good time. Nearby activities: All sorts of kids activities throughout the day made the experience better.
This place is phenomenal for kids, and is very good at extracting money from their parents' wallets. Staff is super friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Everyone we interacted with was a pleasure. The rooms were clean, spacious, and relatively quiet, but a little odd for a layout, with our bathroom sink located directly across from the kids' sleeping area. The facility was clean and well kept, but showed its age, and common area carpets could have been cleaned a little sticky. Arcade could use more games/ticket opportunities and fewer claw machines, and prices NEED to be dialed back. The waterpark is very good but my kids probably would get bored after 2 days. Putt-putt is a good course and well maintained but the par rankings aren't consistent - lots of Par 2's when they could be Par 3's and vice-versa. The dinner restaurant on-site is good but has lodge read: expensive pricing. Continental breakfast is fantastic - omelettes are tasty, and otherwise there's a ton of options for everyone's fancy. A great experience overall!
Great time! Clean pools. Clean room. Super fun for kids! Restaurant is $$$$ but the food and service is SUPERB! Highly recommend! Room was accessible except bathroom would be hard to navigate as you have to step over side of tub. They have wristband keys which are super convenient.1Rooms: 5/5
