We are, The Greater Chicago Truck Travel Plaza, and we are a family owned and operated, independent, truck plaza dedicated to serving the Chicagoland area, the traveling public, and the professional truck driver. Since 1968, we have never waivered in our passion for providing and caring for the needs of the trucking industry and the interstate traveler.
We are conveniently located 25 miles southwest of downtown Chicago on I-55 and Rt. 53 (exit 267), in Bolingbrook, IL. We continue to evolve and grow in order to keep current with the needs of the professional driver so we are constantly updating our facility.
Our gasoline and diesel fuel islands are located on separate sides of the building, making it easy for cars and trucks to get in and out quickly without feeling intimidated or stressed by the other. In 2008, we added an additional 4000 square foot facility to our existing travel store which is now filled with truck and travel necessities. Our travel store has something for everyone!
The Greater Chicago Truck Plaza was one of the first truck stops in the country to offer a free, 24 hour fitness center/gym, with commercial grade fitness equipment, for our main customer- the professional truck driver. This dedicated area for the health and well being of our guests is located on the 2nd floor of the building next to the chapel.
In addition to our upgraded facilities, we have our very own restaurant. We serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day! You are sure to enjoy our incredible homemade food at The I-55 Truckstop Restaurant. So whether you're traveling with family or friends and need to take a break, celebrating a special occassion, or even having a late night craving, our restaurant can satisfy all your needs and take on any food craving you have.
Diesel, gas, clean restrooms and showers, trailer wash outs, truck tire repair & sales, truck accessories, electronic, or even a truck weigh scale....we do it all at our truck stop AND with the best customer service around. We are well equipped and prepared to serve you and meet the professional driver's need.
