A professional Study Club for Dental Hygienists, affiliate of Seattle Study Club
Now in our 3rd year, with membership growing by leaps and bounds, the Hygiene Study Club looks forward to a truly amazing year packed with many different topics and unique experiences. Our 2012-2013 calendar is expanded to include 6 programs, 2 of which will be in conjunction with Greater Loudoun Study Club. Our year kicks off in October with the latest updates on diagnosis and treatment of Sleep Apnea, presented by Dr. Robert Gallegos and Dr. Jay Vandervort. Early in November the hygienists will learn techniques and resources for the management of TMJ from Dr. Walter Collazo. On November 30 the GLHSC is invited to join GLSC for an all day presentation on Dental Pharmacotherapy and Impact of Alternative Medicine by nationally recognized expert Karen Baker. January has VCU’s esteemed Professor of Oral Pathology and storyteller extraordinaire, Dr. John Svirsky bringing us up to date on Oral Pathology. In March we will head out to the new Purcellville office of Dr. Tom Grisius for training in Orthodontic appliance care. And our year wraps up in April with a lecture and hands-on presentation entitled “Mastering the Piezoelectric Ultrasonic Scaling Device” brought to us by Brasseler USA.
Since 2004 Loudoun Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery has proudly sponsored the Greater Loudoun Study Club, a member of the Seattle Study Club whose mission is bringing educational excellence and advancement to dentists around the world. In 2010 we began a study club exclusively for Loudoun County Dental Hygienists; the Greater Loudoun Hygiene Study Club. This study club is dedicated to excellence in the field of dental hygiene. Our goal is to facilitate higher learning to help you be the best in your profession while creating a team environment that fosters lasting friendships among peers.
