The Green River Arts Council is a volunteer group partnering with the City of Green River to bring art and cultural opportunities to the community. Their most popular and biggest annual event is Art on the Green a 24 hour live 2D and 3D art competition.
The Green River Arts Council consists of nine resident volunteers that have been appointed by the Mayor of Green River to serve a two year term to administer the provisions of the City of Green River's "Art in Public Places" program. The council meets at least once monthly, and develops guidelines and standards for selection, display and maintenance of art for the City of Green River's collection. They are responsible for the acquisition of works of art for the City's collection and are responsible for raising funds for the planning and development of public art. The Arts Council plans and directs the activities of the "Art on the Green" event held annually and in conjunction with the "River Festival" that is celebrated in August.
Fostering community pride by promoting public art and creativity for the citizens of Green River.
